b>PSP Custom Glovebox Enclosure instructions:

StolenHeron's 2004 Land Rover DiscoveryStolenHeron's 2004 Land Rover Discovery
StolenHeron's 2004 Land Rover DiscoveryStolenHeron's 2004 Land Rover Discovery

Materials:
-Auto carpeting (I got as a freebie)
-Roofing Sheet Metal ($5 for 20' x 18")
-Spray Adhesive/Staple gun (had it)
-Sheet Metal Cutters (had it)
-Dremel Kit (had it)
-Handful of Nuts and bolts (had it)
-Drill (had it)
-Small Wrench or Pliers (had it)
-Sharpie marker (had it)

1. 1st measure your glovebox (height and width), oversize the height by about an inch (you want the Metal to curve in the glovebox and fit snuggly in order to avoid any installation hardware)
2. Cut the roofing sheet metal to the appropriate size (make sure your height is 1 inch longer than your measurements to get the curve)

3. Now Dremel the corners of the glovebox to make sure it doesnt scratch the glovebox
4. Test fit the piece, make sure you just let the metal hold itself in the glovebox.
5. Now, measure the size of your PSP or gameboy or w/e you want to put in there. Make sure you leave about a 1/4" of excess space on all the measurements (so its big enough to pull in and out).
6. Trace out the measurements using the sharpie (where you want it) on the sheet of roofing sheet metal.
7. Cut the plate out using a cutting disc on the dremel kit (you need to save that excess metal for use later)

8. Now you need to 4 cut strips (3" x 1") of sheet metal from the big roll of sheet metal that you cut the original big piece off of (NOT the piece you just cut out that is the size of the psp)
9. Bend the 4 strips (2 bends each) into an (an inch for each of the 3 sections) "s" shape, but with 90 degree bends only.

10. Drill 4 holes into the cutout and into one side of each of the bent strips (the strips are used as support brackets).
11. Bolt the strips to the cutout plate, (you made need pliers or the wrench to tighten them all the way up).
12. Mark up the main cutout hole in the main plate with the cutout plate.
13. drill holes into the main plate and the other sides of the brackets, then bolt the cutout to the back side of the main plate via the bolt. Now you should have a large metal piece with a hole with a recessed plate behind that hole.

14. make sure the PSP or other device fits inside the hole.
15. Now take your carpet, cut it to the proper sizes and shapes for both the main and recessed, cut out, plates.
16. attach carpet via spray adhesive or staples.
17. place in glovebox and place device in plate.
18. Have fun watching movies or playing video games in your ride for under a $10 install.

1. Disconnect the negative battery terminal of your car (make sure you know your reset code if you have a stock stereo that finds one necessary. contact your dealership if you are unsure).
2. Look in your car's manual on the proper way to replace light bulbs then disconnect factory bulb.
3. Replace with the HID bulb. DO NOT TOUCH THE BULBS, the oils in your fingers will make the bulbs pop once they get to a running temperature.
4. Find a mounting location for the ballast and lighter assembly. Use the given double stick tape in kit or Zip tie to the location (I drilled holes in my wheel well housing plastic and ziptied them to that).

5. Plug the male and female igniter adapter to the xenon bulb assembly and make sure the bulbs are secured tightly with the dust cover cap
6. Run wiring harness in the engine bay, use zip ties to secure harness.
7. Attach power plugs to each ballast, make sure the plugs are securely placed and that its firmly intact.
8. Double check all connections and mounting jobs.
9. Repeat step 2-8 on both sides
10. reconnect the car's negative battery terminal.
11. turn the light switch and enjoy. LET THE LIGHTS RUN FOR 10 MINUTES, it is a normal burn-in procedure.

Dude that looks great the oval hellas are the most subtle touch that really set the front end off I really wish that I could get my RRC to the level you have gotten your Disco 2 to (probably wont get it that good as fast as you did) but your doing your LR the way they were always meant to be clean and humble with robust offroad capabilitys Come check out my RRC sometime it would be good to have some input from an experenced LR owner to a young owner like myself Thanks

HiIm really wanting to get a Land rover. Im actually looking at a 2004 Discovery HSE. The more I research and ask around about owning the more negative feed backs I get. I really would like one. Im VERY active. Kayaking, surfin, and snowboarding. I have a 94 for explorer that I really love. Does great in the mudd and snow. Very roomy. Lots of miles. With the Land Rover I could go so many more places and actually tow a trailer. Could I get some honest feed back...negative or postive. Keep your tires down and tips up...Heidi
