4 Barrel intake swap done today 8-4-2007
Well I took upon myself to finally do the 4 barrel intake swap today, well after about 3 hours(mostly spent on cleaning and fguring stuff out) it was all done, then I got a fuel leak, then a heater hose busted!!!! And to top everything off since the car did'nt have a proper harness for the 'idle-up' solenoid I had to rig up something to adjust the idle speed! But I figured it out though! Check out the pics.....
Here's the offender a non-factory 2 barrel(the variable venturi carb was busted and did'nt run right from the get- go,so I had a 2 Barrel from an old Torino lying around) I just recently added some Powered by Ford valve covers I got off of a 84 GT. So let the carnage begin..... (insert evil laugh here!)
I was really suprised everything came off as easily as they did?!
So heres the new(used) 4 barrel intake all clean and ready to go...
So far so good....
EGR spacer for the smog Nazi's of Kalifornia :-/
I found out while installing the intake one of the carb stud holes was stripped, some JB Weld and let it dry and we're good to go! ;-)
All done, not bad for an afternnon in the Califoria sun, getting some ray's and spinning some wrenches with my uncle!
Heres the idle-up bracket I modified to make the idle speed adjustable, worked out pretty good for some backyard engineering! :-P
