This is my 1971 Opel GT. These collectible classics were manufactured from 1968 to 1973 by Opel, a european subsidiary of General Motors. These cars were imported from Germany and sold in the United States by Buick. The GT was available with a 1.1L cam in head (CIH) engine that produced 68hp and was coupled with the base 4-speed manual transmission, or with a 1.9L CIH engine that produced 102hp and was avialable with the base 4-speed manual or a 3-speed automatic. Other features of the car include it's front engine, rwd layout, steel unibody design, and pop up headlights (rather than pop up, the head lights roll on a longitudinal axis, and are operated manually by means of a lever near the center console).
