Here's a little video of the car in action

Here is my eternal project car that I will keep for the rest of my existence. After having worked with a few Hondas & performing many engine swaps, like a 2.3 DOHC into my EF (or ED) civic & a boosted Prelude, I decided I wanted something lightweight & RWD. The 510 is a well balanced car with a racing heritage that I could not ignore, besides my Dad’s first car was a 510 so that got me interested in them.

I've pulled KA24DE from a 91 240sx out of it, & have crammed in a VQ. After months of searching for an engine I was lucky to find one locally from an 06 G35 with just over 20,000 miles.

To handle the power I have a larger 3.7 ratio R200 differential that I've put a Helical LSD in & have some shortened Z31 CV axles. I have also installed a custom Rack & Pinion setup using a BMW rack provided more room for a VQ & exhaust manifolds than the OEM steering box would allow. I will also be installing a a new fuel system with 2 pumps & a surge tank.

The car is not in perfect shape, which is okay because I did not want to be hacking up a prestine/original 510 for this project. The floorpans, for example, have the typical rust so I will be replacing those when I'm ready to do body work which may be awhile because the swap has cleaned me out.

Current Mods are as follows:
VQ swap with reversed crossmember (easy 260+whp with a fat torque curve)
RCI 15 gallon Fuel Cell with a Surge tank
Z32 4-piston calipers up front on 11" rotors
Z32 2-piston rear calipers
15/16 Master Cylinder from 280zx
Braided brake lines & replaced the hardlines
Custom dash with Autometer Gauges
A custom Rack & Pinion
200sx struts up front with Ground Control Coilovers, Koni struts
Techno-Toy Tuning Tension Rods
Modified/slotted rear crossmember for camber adjustment
Ground Control springs Koni Struts at rear
16” Advan SA3R wheels  w/ BFG T/A KDW 2's (staggered 16x7 front 16x8 rear)
15" cheapo Nippon Racing wheels w/ Toyo's
Modified Rear LCA's for better wheel/tire clearance
280z rear stub axles (stronger than stock, & accept the Modern Motorsports comp flange
F1-Spec Mugen style racing seats
RCI Seat Belts
Racing Wheel w/ Quick Release
BMW ellipsoid headlights (not pictured yet, next update)
R200 differential with Helical LSD & shortened turbo Z31 CV axles

Future Mods:
Roll cage
Replace floor pan
Strip & paint the car, can't decide what color yet

A WORD OF WARNING TO ALL THOSE CONSIDERING A VQ35 SWAP:
If you own a 240sx or 510 & want to do this swap cautiously do business with vqswap.com. I won't go into details but service is very slow & professionalism lacking.

Hey I saw that video of your car on youtube the other day. That thing is out of control. Nice choice going with the VQ, and very original!

i like what youve done with your PL510, the 3 spoke wheels sure make it look unique thats for sure and the VQ should be a blast and must sound wicked from the 510. if i choose to keep my car and continue to fund it i plan to possibly squeeze in a WarHawk LS7X(427 raped to 454 by World Products)...of course id just build a race chassis with integrated rollcage an just drop the body over an bolt it up. anyways good luck with the 510 and keep up the good work.
