20dodgeneon00's 2000 Dodge Neon

20dodgeneon00's 2000 Dodge Neon

Hey everyone, my name is Joe, and I live near Portland, Maine. I currently own a 2000 Dodge Neon, and I am 17 years old. Work began on the neon as soon as I turned 16 and got my drivers license. To be concise, it's pretty much my new obsession, all of my paychecks go into this damn thing! Right now I am enduring a 90 day suspension, and I'm only 15 days into it! I've done so much to this car though, and it's only just begun.

For the performance, I've put in an AEM Cold air Intake, MPx 60mm throttle body, an Unorthadox Underdrive Pulley, an AF/X Performance Chip, A rapid transmission cooler, a ceramic coated pacesetter header, custom 3" downpipe with 3" cat, and for now, i have a vibrant dual exhaust.

For looks, I've got some sweet clear tail lights with LED's, tint plates, 50% tint all around, new rims in the stock size, red calipers, new crystal headlights and foglights, clear corner lenses, white LED underglow kit, ipod set-up, escort radar detector, debadged trunk, new sxt spoiler, university plates, crome blinkers, mesh to hide the radiator, and tons more. This vehicle is absolutely loaded with performance and appearance goods. I take wicked good care of this car, and I am seperating myself from the pack with it. Not many neon owners know how to get it done, but I do, this thing is a shiny black beast with none of those gay chincy bodykits, and ugly ass cheap fartcans, everything is done right, professionally, and clean as always. This neon is actually respected because it looks the way it should, a neon...not some evo wannabee lol. People, follow my lead on this one, this project has only just begun, yet its already outdone most peoples neons in only a year and a half of work!

Recently I just purchased the R-tech 85's in a 17x7.5" size and they just came today. They look fricken sweet! I cant wait to get them on, in a week ill have the money for the tires. In the picture above I have some nice looking 15x6.5 American Racing Estrellas that substitute the stock rims for the winter (I have to be somewhat flashy even in the crappy winters of Maine haha). I will use this tire and wheel package for the hard winters of Maine, but I am eager to get my summer package on and get some lowering springs for the beast.

Some of my next mods I am looking forward to getting done is purchasing the INDY intake manifold so I can actually fully utilize the 60mm throttle body and sweet AEM cold air intake. I'm also going to be putting on a 2002 R/T bumper so I can have the nice look of a dual exhaust with the exhaust cut outs and a nice R/T exhaust system to go with it, should make the vehicle look really clean and put together. I'd also like to get some nice lowering springs so the car will sit nicely on the 17's.

Overall it's been a long journey so far. I've dumped tons of cash into this car, and so far, it's been worth it! I like to keep it clean, mean, and simple. Im not into all the poptart bodykit crap, reppin the "all show, no go" slogan. Lets face it, neons aren't the fastest cars stock, so you better be putting some work into it performance wise before you go making her look good, and it's exactly what i've done, this car earns its looks. I love this car. Obviously it comes with some disadvantages, but all vehicles do, I am very proud to have this car at my age. When you dedicate yourself to a vehicle, it shows. Im pretty much the only neon around here that looks sweet, atleast in my eyes, and EVERYONE looks at this thing even if they don't particulary like NEONS, but they atleast can recognize it's well done and exoitic looking. I cant wait till the rims are on and its lowered, its going to get even more looks. Shes also very loud at full throttle and I love it, i love exhaust and loud noises, and this car really does it for me. And when im needing that v8 muscle sound, i have my brothers sweet giant black F-350 with a 7.5 liter v8 big block 460ci engine to do the trick haha! Now I just need my license back, lol DAMN!

ILL HAVE NEW PICS UP OF THE BEAST AFTER THE RIMS ARE ON AND IT GET ITS EXTERIOR AND INTERIOR DETAIL within in the next day or two!
