-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

***THE STORY BEGINS***

When i got her... she was FAR from her prime... used and abused by some hicks on the flats...

Daniel_Doerksen's 1982 Pontiac Trans Am Chips of paint missing EVERYWHERE, however the front bumper had the vents in relitivly good condition which is rare

Daniel_Doerksen's 1982 Pontiac Trans Am interior was beat to shit, it toook many carpet cleaning jobs to get her clean, there was random pieces missing, that i had to find at wrekers it had pmd seats which was an added bonus similar to recaro edition

Daniel_Doerksen's 1982 Pontiac Trans Am I must have found atleast 5dollars in change in very awkward places in the car! :D :D

Daniel_Doerksen's 1982 Pontiac Trans Am The 305 was pretty ugly and greasy, previous owner said it was a 350. However 3rd gens never came standard with a 350, and he made the mistake of telling me it was factory.. lol
didnt matter i wasnt buying the car for the beat to shit engine

When i recieved the car, the 305 engine, had a LOUD rod nock. And the T10 Transmission didnt always shift into gear i liked to lock into 2 gears simultaniously, and the clutch was nonexistent... thats right this car was ORIGNALLY standard...
whyd i change it!!! ill explain all that when we get too the destruction of the 2nd trans. I took out the the engine and it turned out to be a spun bareing, so with a little work and replacement i redid the messed bareings reassembled it, and threw her in. Drove her for about a month, and the transmission
started to give loose alittle and one day locked up into reverse and 1st... which when your in the middle of the street perpendicular to the road trying to turn around, its not the best thing to happen... after that i relised that both my Engine and transmission SUCK HORRIBLY... time to move this car on to this next stage of life, i got on my way and picked up a 327 core, being a nastalgic favorite of mine, and a SUPER T10 from a 1979 Z28.
I got the 327 rebuilt upgrade slightly and decided to leave the supert10 the way it was.

Daniel_Doerksen's 1982 Pontiac Trans Am The Long block was built by K&M in abbotsford, by Cory. Hes pretty much the guy i go to at last resort if i just cant figure something out

Daniel_Doerksen's 1982 Pontiac Trans Am That transmissing attached is the super t10 for the 79 z28, supposed to be indestructable...

Having to Weld up the exhaust and Fabricate a crossmember for the super t10 transmission i decided it would be best to get the car broken in at a place where i would have access to a hoist and a expensive welder :D

Daniel_Doerksen's 1982 Pontiac Trans Am Notice my nice front wheels 14" centerlines WOOT, i had to modify my front fenders to put on the keystone troque thrusts, and i needed to drive it before i had the time so thats why those are there

Daniel_Doerksen's 1982 Pontiac Trans Am what a happy day in my life a succesful break in, too bad i didnt have my demon carb yet..

After the break In i drove the car for 8 months or so...
I was Very Satified with the power it had and being able to lay 1st 2nd and 3rd gear rubber (not a pansy squeal) on a 4spd transmission on a dry day.

Daniel_Doerksen's 1982 Pontiac Trans Am After Modifying the front fenders so i was able to turn the wheels lock to lock i figured it was tiem for some pictures

I took up the challenge on making my own style of seat, i sketched up quite a few sketches, and ended up with a black
leather outside with perferrated crimson red center pletes.
i handed the sketchs to HEART apholestry and they took it from there.

Daniel_Doerksen's 1982 Pontiac Trans Am More pictures of the interior to come

Thats both my girls on the day of prom. Shortly Prom about 2 weeks, i was going up to pass a guy doing 50 in a 50 zone(GEEZ) and just as i was shifting into 2nd Gear BAM! i blew 6-8 teeth off the input shaft of my transmission... "indestrucable" my ass...
Now the car sat till i had cash

Middle Of summer it was time to fire up and get going on her again. I carefully picked out a nice rim selection for myself, i decided to go with th 18x9 and 19x10 c6 rims (which Iam proud to say im as far as i know the first person in the lower mainland to do on a 3rd gen and had never heard or seen anyone try this before me) After getting the rims on ebay with tires, i then decided to abandon finding a new standard becuase i wanted overdrive and the WC t-5 only supports 275 torque, and the tremac 5speed and t56 6speed are well over 1200$ i decided to go with an auto 700r4 that i was able to get for 250$
at this time i also needed to buy spacers, and i wanted 4 wheel disc so i bought the rearend whihc gave me a 2inch wider offset which was needed for c6 rims. "there was alot of minor problems i had to deal with to do all of this" fabrication, metric conversion etc.

Daniel_Doerksen's 1982 Pontiac Trans Am first set of rims woot, i was STOKED!

Daniel_Doerksen's 1982 Pontiac Trans Am

Daniel_Doerksen's 1982 Pontiac Trans Am i hated the stance but i loved the car...

I did my reseach and figure out that gtech RR would be a very nice thing to have, so i figured id wire up a computer into my car. Maximizing screen size and minimizing space usage i went with the 17" flatpanel and an xbox controller for navigation and i mounted the laptop in the back with my inverter.

Daniel_Doerksen's 1982 Pontiac Trans Am im, currently using the screen for movies, music, playing n64, sega, nes, snes, psx, and pc games... the plan is to have gtech to feed data to the laptop, so i can tune the car at the track, and i love electronics... fabricating the mount for the screen took about 4 hours to get it right

Daniel_Doerksen's 1982 Pontiac Trans Am underneath the laptop is secondary battery and inverter both relayed and wired nicely

Time For me to worry Alitte about the exterior of my car...
i purchased a new fender to replace the beat up front pass. one
and i also stripped a parts firebird of its gta kit, 8 hours later she looks like a gta, i dont like the gtas rear bumper so im still looking for an alternate option hence the missing rear gfx.

Daniel_Doerksen's 1982 Pontiac Trans Am first time putting gfx on a car, i thought i did a damn good job

Daniel_Doerksen's 1982 Pontiac Trans Am was raining forever, and i couldnt go more then a month without driving her, so she saw the rain, being a 3rd gen and having power corners become quite fun in the rain

One of the hardest times in my life.. referred to as the "The Great Depression" i woke up on morning went to grab something from my garage to see the sad sight of my car DROPPED FLAT ON THE GROUND!!! my rims were stolen during the night, and worse by someone i know, i know this because i live in the middle of nowhere only ppl who i no have been to my house. WORSE yet, because the car is a sunday driver to me, i had my insurence switch to a different vehicle... so the rims where stolen and i will never get to see a cent from insurence :'(

I forced my self to get over it in a week, and started looking for new rims... as luck would have it i found some localy.. a guy was upgrading his 06 vette. 1750$ later i had my rims again! :D, to celebrate i lowered my car...

Daniel_Doerksen's 1982 Pontiac Trans Am front springs are a pain in the ass to change... i wish i had a hoist
Daniel_Doerksen's 1982 Pontiac Trans Am i plan on getting the rear gfx when i find it from a 82-84, later models look bad because it is rounded
Daniel_Doerksen's 1982 Pontiac Trans Am

ALOT of modifications werent mentioned and may be added soon (such as when i upgraded to a demon carb, etc.)
i may have missed things, and i wrote this in closest to chronlogical order as i could.

Thanks For Looking...

Third gens not coming with a 350 from the factory? What are you on? The 350 could come from the factory starting in 87, not with a manual transmission though.
