Hello, thanks for stopping by to visit my 1978 MG Midget Rally Sport. I'm lucky enough to be the third owner. She's all original with 47,846 miles as of 7/8/07. Please rate her and check back soon, I'll be adding some more pictures in the next few days.
UPDATE 7/8/07:
I entered my first car show today, the Hambden Congregational Church Car Show in Chardon Ohio. Every year, the pastor's long-suffering wife picks her favorite car in the field to recieve an award, and this year, Jewel was picked to recieve Poor Sweet Mary's Award! I gave Mary a ride in the car and she absolutely loved it. I'll have pictures up later this week. Stay tuned!
When you're done, be sure to check out my 1974½ MGB as well.
The interior looks just like it did when it rolled off of the Abingdon assembly line back in March, 1978...at least until you open the glovebox...
That's a Kenwood KDC-2019 head unit in there. Above the radio, behind the speaker grille, are two Kenwood KFC-1377s in addition to the factory speaker. Behind the seats are two Kenwood KFC-6905s.
It's a really nice system. It's pretty balanced, I listen to everything from Steely Dan to Linkin Park, and it all sounds great. I hear every nuance of the music, even with the top down at 45 MPH!
Speaking of Linkin Park, here's a picture of me and Jewel outside of Best Buy 5/15/07 right after I bought
Minutes to Midnight. I was excited, because I've always wanted to buy a CD on release day and listen to it in the car right away! I've never owned a car with a CD player before.
Here's a picture of the engine bay. Every single wire, hose, and bolt is exactly where it's supposed to be. Even the original labels & decals are still in place - luckily, the previous owners understood the importance of such things. The only "deviation" is an electronic ignition, which makes it a lot easier to enjoy the car. The only other change I'd like to make is an Ansa exhaust, if I can find one.
Thanks for stopping by, and don't forget to rate me! Remember to check back for updates! This week, I'll be sure to get a view of the rear speakers from inside the car.
