I wanted to fill the double DIN slot from the stock bose completely so i went for a in-dash DVD system. I got the JVC KW-AVX800 off ebay for around $560, i'd say it's a bargain.

I had some kenwood 6x9" speakers from my old car and i didn't wanna spend any money on new speakers... but... there was a problem; the maxima uses 6 3/4" speakers all around. SOLUTION...
make a fiberglass rear deck to hold the 6x9s and make it custom.
But, i ran into a few more problems. The bose wiring in the car makes it so the stock speakers wont work with my aftermarket deck without buying an adapter or replacing the speakers.
The bose speakers accept a different load than aftermarket speakers and so they wont work. So, my boy chris and i had to run new wires from the deck to the back of the car to use the speakers i had. But, after being left in the rain one day, the speakers sound like poop and have NO bass... so im gonna be ordering a new set soon.
I have rockford fosgate 3 ways in the front.i dont have a pic tho, u cant see them when they're in.

Fiberglass rear deck (in progress)

i put some spot putty on the rear deck to fill in the little gaps, primed it and sanded it for another coat of putty.

I bought 4-way 6x9 Rockfords for the rear deck.

Rear deck almost done...

I painted the Rockford Fosgate logo in the center of the rear deck and used the silver paint lightly over it to make a gradient. i think it looks pretty B.A.

Finally finished and "installed" the rear deck in the max. It looks pretty nice (seeing how it's my first fiberglass project)

More fiberglass work to come in the near future :) ....
