Physlis's 1990 Toyota CelicaThis is my '90 Celica GT-S. I got it in 2005 for $1000.00 and it had no rust! The only thing that needed done was to replace the failing clutch. The ironic part was the day it finally went out, I had just picked up the new clutch and it was the day before I shipped out to basic training. Pretty much everything is still stock other than the Invader body kit and Shogun spoiler, the 15" American Racing 'Coil' rims with Evo-Z tires from Kelly Tires and the CD player. Yes, I know, it still needs a paint job, but I've decided to go a different route with the design and do some custom bodywork rather than the basic body-kit. I plan on getting a new stock bumper from a '92-'93 Celi, cutting the 'vader front end and putting the parts I like on the new bumper so that it'll fit over the steel reinforcement bar. Without the bar I can't pass state inspections, so it's either this or remove the 'vader every year. All of the work is done 'in-house' to save on labor costs and I just like working on it myself. I did the body kit and spoiler and took about 2-3 days to put on since I only had a few hours when I had help to hold the pieces in place.

Right now the car has some of the body work smoothed out and I removed the aftermarket spoiler. After two years of seeing the new spoiler in my rear-view I got tired of it and decided to go another route. Right now I'm in the process of modding the stock spoiler and doing something a little different, yet keeping it relatively simple. Unfortunately the bodykit is starting to fall apart from road debris and a side-swipe.

To answer the questions as to what color I'm gonna paint it; I'm just going to stay with the stock red for now. There's still a decent amount of work I want to do with the exterior of the car and I don't want to give it it's final paintjob until it's all finished, but I am going to stick with some shade of red with black trim.

I got myself signed up on Carsponsorships.com and just finished a sponsorship program with Engine Ice, a high-performance coolant manufacturer. I just applied for a sponsorship with Bodykits.com and I plan on taking on a few more sponsors as I try to bring the full potential out of my car.

not bad man these cars has a lot of potential. just make sure u replace the vacuum valve and fuel pump (those are the things that go bad with these cars right after the clutch goes out)

Nice GTS. I had a 92 GTS back in the day. I should have never gotten rid of that car. Seeing yours really takes me back. had it back in 99. keep up the good work I want to see it painted up with sick Vader kit. 5*'s! Check out my 89 Prelude.
