I've made it a point to get the meano on the road by july 1. The first job to do,of course,is to ditch the shit brakes. I had to uhaul it up to my shop fourty or so miles away. I broke the u-joint in the process, which entailed installing a new one. i did that in two hours. w00t. I spent the next hour or so diagnosing the brakes.i discovered that the left rear wheel cylinder is completely shafted. Tommorow,i'm going to pull the whole thing apart, rebuild everything inside the drums, and drop a half can of flat black primer on the drum covers.

The brakes are pretty much shafted. the backing plates are bent, and the drums are pretty much falling apart. It's time to ditch them, and quick. i think that i'm going to wind up doing an S10 rear brake swap on it before the end of the month.

About that S10 swap. too expensive. i've finally got the engine to drive under her own power. it smokes like a beast and i have to find why that's happening, but it should be movable by the end of the week or so.

I've slowly started getting the engine back online. i adjusted the idle and the carb. i also have been trying to clean the cylinders out, using some gasket-sealer to tide me over until i can replace the engine. which i have given serious thought to. The rims are getting a bit of repair (see page 3) for the sake of appearances. Three coats of primer, three coats of paint, and five clearcoats.

I got ahold of one of the old owners today. the engine was swapped with a poorly built 350 over a decade ago. the holley 4130 carb is coupled with a lunati mild cam and edelbrock heads. the engine needs a rebuild,or just to be replaced, but fuck it. i'm happy.

Happy El-camin-oween!
Well,i had her running for a good while until something went wrong. The brake line up on the front left side not only blew open, but because of the condition of the fittings,i've laid her down under a blanket for the winter, and i'm going to start amassing parts. have a good winter. rofl.

And thus we begin again. I began dropping the diff for the switch to Disc brakes and a mini spool.
