Update (10-15-07): Well its a crappy paint job but its better than the big primer spot for sure! The image to the left is of the car before the 15th. It had a large primer spot on the hood left over from a dent I repaired. The image to the right is of the car now, after I took the hood off and repainted it.

Update (10-13-2007): Well, I removed the air box and added a cone filter using a universal adapter plate I found (had to drill out the proper holes myself), and did a full synthetic conversion using royal purple in the engine, manual transmission, and the rear diff. Even though I have heard that Subaru owners have had problems with royal purple I decided to try it and so far it is working great for me!

Well, this is my 99 Legacy Outback. Nothing to fancy, just your stock 2.5 Liter H4 w/ 5-speed manual. Picked her up for around $6k. Haven't really been able to giver her a name yet because I seem to be having a hard time getting a feel for her personality. Thus far I have pretty much decided not to modify anything about this car, with the exception of a turbo kit made for the 2.5L H4, and still toying with the idea of a 4" suspension lift for that added ground clearance while off-roading. Without a hint of doubt in my mind I know I will be doing some paint work to change the general appearance. The second thing I noticed about this car is that it is far from unique and even further from standing out. So, I plan to paint the hood the same color as the lower body to give it something to pull away from the norm, that plus the turbo kit should make for a much more unique and interesting car.

Please by all means let me know what you think of my idea(s), and if you have any names that you think would fit her.

Hey man thanks for the kinds words! Good Luck with your plans, I love seeing guys off roadin with an Outback! A turbo would definetly be sick dude! Ive thought about it myself but its PREETY PRICEY I found a kit a while back from AVO i think, for around $3400, an WRX motor swap may be a lil more cost effient, but anything can happen. Enjoy the Subi and Welcome to Cardomain!!
