This page will be all the progress pictures while I am installing my Air ride into my truck over this winter. It has Finally started I'm super excited.  So Far Special THanks going out to the Girl Friend, Simon and Rob probably will be many more. Especially to Simon without him there would be no garage to work in the truck in.

Day 1 - So I finally started tearing the truck apart last night got the lights, grill, upper bumper, fenders and hood off.

Here is the passenger side moving wires to relocate the fuse box a bit.

The suspension that will not be on there much longer!!! Look how close the tire is to the firewall might have to do some tubbing there too.

mmalcolm24's 2007 GMC Sierrammalcolm24's 2007 GMC Sierra

Day 2/3 - Started pullin the driver side suspension off then over to the Passenger Side, after going out to the store to buy a 24mm socket day 3 started with removing the lower control arms and then disconnecting the tie rod ends to get the suspension off the truck.

Day 4 - Not much was done got the tie rod seperated from the spindle and the suspension is out of the way and got a few other pieces moved so we could start cutting the truck up.

Day 5 - Today was the fun day started to cut the truck it took me and a buddy about an 1 - 1 1/2 hours to cut the upper control arm mounts and strut mount off the truck and I started grinding the the remaining metal so it was smooth with the frame. I started grinding the Passenger Side and I will start on the Drivers Side tomorrow once I finish up the Passenger Side.

Got everything ready to be welded sometime this weekend hopefully.

mmalcolm24's 2007 GMC Sierrammalcolm24's 2007 GMC Sierra

Here are a few new pictures from the last couple days.

Installed my new Tie rod ends if you want to call them that!

mmalcolm24's 2007 GMC Sierra

Air tanks mounted wont see them once the bumper is mounted on the truck. Here is how we connected the two tanks as well.

mmalcolm24's 2007 GMC Sierrammalcolm24's 2007 GMC Sierra

Some of my front suspension back from getting powder coated I also installed the bushings into the lower control arms!

mmalcolm24's 2007 GMC Sierrammalcolm24's 2007 GMC Sierra

Tonight I got my Air lines ran. 1/2" stainless line. Helps when your buddies next door neighbour is a pipe fitter makes it really easy.

mmalcolm24's 2007 GMC Sierrammalcolm24's 2007 GMC Sierra

Had to clear the steering shaft boot looks really good in person!

mmalcolm24's 2007 GMC Sierra

Finally got the brackets on the front welded on Thursday it took all of an hour to get done turned out awesome!

mmalcolm24's 2007 GMC Sierra

The following night after getting the front end welded I started bolting everything up and got the truck on the ground that night. The powdercoating looks really good against the black.

Here is a quick shot from Friday Night with the 17s on the truck in the garage.

mmalcolm24's 2007 GMC Sierra

This was saturday morning when we pulled the truck out of the garage getting ready to turn it around so that I can start working on the rear end of the truck. The tank picture is with the truck full aired out with the lower control arm mounts on the ground so the tanks will not hit the ground.

mmalcolm24's 2007 GMC Sierrammalcolm24's 2007 GMC Sierra

All the toe and camber issues will be fixed have to cut some of the inner tie rods threads off and the upper control arms were not tightened yet.

mmalcolm24's 2007 GMC Sierrammalcolm24's 2007 GMC Sierra

mmalcolm24's 2007 GMC Sierra

Once the truck was turned around the bed was pulled off and I started to remove the rear suspension with the help from some friends all that is left to do at this point in the disassembly is to remove the driver side front leaf spring hanger then the reassembly can start again.

mmalcolm24's 2007 GMC Sierrammalcolm24's 2007 GMC Sierra

The gas tank has to be removed to driver front leaf spring bolt. Also here is a shot of the passenger side hanger cut and ground smooth I cut into the frame a couple times.

mmalcolm24's 2007 GMC Sierrammalcolm24's 2007 GMC Sierra

Over the last couple days I have started drilling all the holes out for my brackets to be bolted up to the frame. After they got bolted up I started bolting up the 4 link bars and canti bars. The notch is getting installed later this week and the bags should be here very soon as well.

mmalcolm24's 2007 GMC Sierrammalcolm24's 2007 GMC Sierra

mmalcolm24's 2007 GMC Sierrammalcolm24's 2007 GMC Sierra

After getting the back end mostly installed I decided that I should cut down the front inner tie rod ends so I can fix the toe properly. I had to take off 1/2" on each side because the lower control arms from Ekstensive are 1" shorter then stock

Before vs. After

So over the last few days I have been getting my front fenders ready but cutting out the old inner metal fenders to clear the tires when the truck is laid out.

Here is before and after shots of the inner fenders cut out thats 4.5" that I cut out.

mmalcolm24's 2007 GMC Sierra

Here is a shot with the fender on before and after getting them cut out. The bumper sits a maybe 3-4" off the ground fully laid out its pretty exciting.

 mmalcolm24's 2007 GMC Sierrammalcolm24's 2007 GMC Sierra

After I got the front fenders cut out I started working on my rear notch thanks to help from my friends. I couldn't do this without them.

mmalcolm24's 2007 GMC Sierrammalcolm24's 2007 GMC Sierra

I then installed my rear valves on rear crossmember and while I was at me and my buddy decided to mount a 5 gallon tank out back for more air capacity.

mmalcolm24's 2007 GMC Sierrammalcolm24's 2007 GMC Sierra

mmalcolm24's 2007 GMC Sierra

Just for fun here is the billet switch and air pressure gauge I am running both come from AVS

mmalcolm24's 2007 GMC Sierrammalcolm24's 2007 GMC Sierra

Started to run my hardline from my rear tank to my front tanks

mmalcolm24's 2007 GMC Sierra

I also build a console for my air gauge to sit in. Turned out pretty good for my first time I have built something like this

mmalcolm24's 2007 GMC Sierrammalcolm24's 2007 GMC Sierra

Well I decided to take the truck to its first car show this year as an under construction. The lower valance is about 1/4" off the ground!

mmalcolm24's 2007 GMC Sierrammalcolm24's 2007 GMC Sierra

mmalcolm24's 2007 GMC Sierrammalcolm24's 2007 GMC Sierra

While my buddy was reshaving my tailgate he also painted my engine cover, rad cover, intake tube and fuse box cover. He smoothed them all out they look awesome in person.

mmalcolm24's 2007 GMC Sierrammalcolm24's 2007 GMC Sierra

Got my fuse box cut to fit my fender and my compressor bracket mounted to the engine.

mmalcolm24's 2007 GMC Sierrammalcolm24's 2007 GMC Sierra

Got my bed cut out to clear the wheels then put the bed on the truck and laid the truck out fully for the first time!!
