Well, this summer has been nothing short of exciting with this car. I finally got my motor put in after 9 months of saving money. The car sat from August 24th 2007 until May 10th 2008. It was such an great feeling to turn the key for the first time in almost 9 months, and to have a monster motor under the hood. My first goal was complete. The car was running. My second goal was for my car to get me from Oklahoma to Montana. A 1200 mile trip 2 weeks after the motor went in. To my great relief, it made the entire trip without a hitch and getting 22mpg all the way. Not bad for 502 ponies hitting the ground. My third and final goal of the summer was to get to the track and pull at least an 11.99 in the 1/4 mile. At this altitude I was plenty happy with that. Once I finally made the track with the drag radials, I ran 11.9x my first 2 runs. I was pumped. Knowing that I had way more to improve on my 60' time, I went for broke on my 3rd run. Heated up the tires really well and lined her up. The launch from that green light was indescribable. A feeling a rollercoaster cant even give you. With a 1.58 60' launch, it took me across the line in 11.52 seconds at 117.34mph. I couldn't have been happier. Goal number 3 met and surpassed in only 3 trys. Not too bad for a humid, mid-summer evening.
New Goal.....10.99...and it will happen. Cooler air and a little weight reduction!!! ITS ON!!!
