BMW e34 530 '89

3.0 engine, manual gearbox, 159k miles on the clock, Delphingrey metallic.. Seems to be a nice car. Especially when you buy it for 130GBP and get free brand new jump leeds from Halfords :D
Waterpump, suspension and few other things need replacing/ upgrading/ removing. It stood in one place for 5 months, has original BMW battery (quite rare as they cost a fortune..)

Stage one - thats how it looked when I bought it.

I gave it a good wash, used T-Cut color restorer than waxed it. After 5 months standing outside it got really dirty. Now its slowly returning to its old fame..

Stage two - time to remove dodgy bits and unwanted weight.. Im removing the alarm system, and all spare weight from the back :)
2007/07/13 (Friday the 13th)
State for today:
- there is only driver seat in
- no carpets
- M-Tech steering wheel fitted
- changed bumpers for black ones with Zender bodykit, sideskirts and spoiler are waiting to be fitted
- alarm removed in 100% (it was a real pain in the a$$)
- 535 clocks waiting to be fit in
- need to buy & fit proper seats and seatbelts

2007/07/14
- clocks from 535 fitted - now speedo is upto 160MPH :D

- Finally new bucket seats arrived together with harnesses

- Wiechers Sport bucket seats and Schroth harnesses installed. We left original seat mounts, therefore we're able to move seats back and forward.. Hurray. The only problem is that in those bucket seat you're sitting very low... about 10cm lower than in original seats. For me its more or less ok, but anyone shorter than 180cm wont see a thing ;)

- Changed wheels in the back - now I have full set of winter tyres, not only front ;)

- 1/2 year old original BMW 5 series battery fitted 95Ah (old one was too weak and had to be replaced)

- radiator had a leak... now it has a new side (plastic replaced with aluminum) and can take much more abuse than original one. Coolant up to -40deg applied

Engine, intake and exhaust have not been modified. Original from BMW made in 1989 (unless someone didn't tell me something).
2008/05/21
- fuel tank "breathing" pipes were replaced as they were rusted and started to leak. Also new differential have been checked - good condition and it has LSD (seller said it was an open differential)
2008/06/14
- differential (with LSD) and shaft from e34 535 manual fitted, also additional cooling installed (original BMW air condition fan is blowing straight onto the radiator when needed). Oil for the differential: Castrol SAF-X SAE 75W-140

- another drift practice day - lots of screaming tire's, flames and big boom at the end..

- after some drift today practice radiator started to leak a little. Now it has been fixed - whole side is now made from aluminium

- removed all rust spots from the body with a help of a drill and Hammerite. Also on the same day I have used all my spare wheels, need to find new ones..

- this ride got as far as it could.. it was hit in the back by some bloke which "didn't see me".. luckyly nothing major but since I got a new E34 this ride will be used for spare parts

- car left at the workshop. dismantling started on 14th (friday), suspension removed

- with no engine, rear axle, exhaust or doors.. its not a car anymore. Rest in peace, you have served well.
