This is my 1970 Duster with only 55000 miles. The original colour is white but it was painted this colour when I bought it. Don't ask me why they did not paint it B5 blue. I will be painting the car later but am unsure what direction to go. If I put in a big block then I wil need to cage and tub the car so the interior will go. If I leave it mild then I may try to keep the interior as it is mint, almost.
I have added a set of magnumforce upper control arms and converted to big bolt pattern front disc brakes.
The interior is original.
This is the stock 225-1Bbl engine. I only drove it from the car trailer into the shop and then pulled the engine. I have since added a Offennauserr 4 BBl intake and a 390 Holley Double Pumper, Pertronix electrinic ignition, fabricated a turbo manifold and installed a AirResearch TB0335 Turbo. I am hoping to run 15's in the 1/4 and still get 20 mpg. Time will tell but anything is better than 20's.
I am waiting for a chrome valve cover to clean it up a bit and then will take it to the exhaust shop and have a 2-1/2 exhaust system put on. I will post pics once running.
Some updated pics with the turbo installed. I am still waiting for a valve cover but the engine is very close to firing!
I had a good weekend and finished the air intake and mounted the blowoff valve, modified the carb linkage, installed the electronic ignition, glass beaded the valve cover and painted it as my chrome one has not arrived yet and fired the car up. I had to take the catb off a couple of times to perform jetting changes and minor adjustments. It seems to run quite well and has a very unique sound. This week it will be getting exhaust and a front end alignment and insurance! I also need to complete the installation of the electronic fuel pump, pressure regulator and the rest of the plumbing. The front end does not seem to be holding the ride height so I may be installing a heavier torsion bar as I would like to improve the handling as well.
I spent the last couple evenings running the rest of my fuel lines and plumbing the wastegate, BOV and related vaccuum lines. I also have ordered a set of heavier torsion bars (0.87) from a 340 car and have removed the slant 6 bars
