This is my 1982 AMC Eagle Sx/4, possibly the coolest and strangest car ever. I got it from a guy in Santa Fe, NM. It had been sitting in the sun for a long time, and as such, had to be repainted. There is a lot of sun damage to the right side interior. The paneling has been severely beat up by the sun and the dash board is cracked. Other then that, its in great shape. Under the hood I have a 258 straight six with a cold air intake I added. Also, I decided to replace the original muffler with a Cherry Bomb muffler from Glasspack. It sounds a lot better than before. All in all, this thing is a beast. MORE PICS COMING SHORTLY!!
Here I am in Moab, Utah, taking it where cars fear to tread. I'm pretty sure I'm one of the only cars that went out there.
We got some decent snow this year so I had to romp it through the streets. I can laugh at everyone who gloats at their cars being faster than me as I watch them get stuck in the snow. Glorious.
More Moab shots. It was a blast to be out there in a car with all of the jeeps and trucks. Although I did run into another Eagle in Moab.
Here is the rat's nest of hoses and wires that is the AMC Straight 6. Ideally I would like to get a 4.0 L fuel injected straight 6, but I live on a college budget, so for now all I can do is dream.
I need to get some more pics. I tossed the old seats and installed some new racing seats. Very nice, I'll get those up ASAP.
I'm going to be ripping out the old carpet and go with rubber flooring instead. I'm going to be replacing the sun damaged door panels, possibly opting for plain sheet metal. I'm also tossing the useless back seats (nobody can really sit in them, they're just too small) and will hopefully put a half roll-cage in the back.
Sadly, in November of '08 I experienced a series of electrical issues. Some of my wiring shorted out and caught on fire and the alternator died. I've had some electrical issues with shorts in the past, but this time it was too expensive. I couldn't afford to fix it on my college budget, so I was forced to sell it. What I would do to drive it one more time! I absolutely love these cars, and plan on buying another one when money isn't so tight. Goodbye Vivian.
