Cars had alot of new parts and alot of things sorted out. its was my daily driver for a year and a half. needs body work and paint and interoir work. I can take current pics on request. call 270-590-9169. It comes as it sits with the 305 and th350. extra parts are negotaible but i do have two more malibus so im not willing to give them away. needs driver side rocker panel worked on (dented, no rust) has rust starting at bottom of doors. other then that the Car has no rust past the surace, like your finger can rub it off and  thats nothing at all.

Update: 5/25/08 It now has ALL new brakes, every component. Ive got a virgin 400sbc 2bolt im rebuilding currently with 5.7" rods and hyper pistons.

Update: 4/2/08 I've changed front calipers, master cylinder, booster, both wheel cylinders, shoes and drums. Ive shaved the quater panel emblems and spoiler holes, ive welded them up and smoothed them. I also shaved the studs for the rocker chrome. Ive started bodywork to get ready for paint.

Update; 2/23/08 Changing oil tomarrow. Got my New tach mounted and working. done some interoir work. Working on getting windshield trim and marker lights, and front 4X4 s10 springs.

Update: 1/31/08 I've replaced rear shoes, machined drums, new calipers, pads and i'am changing the booster and master cylinder. I'm getting new 235/60's for th efront where the old ones popped. I've still got to replace the rear control arm. I've got all my new gauges hooked up.

Update: 11/28/07 I've fixed the trunk lid, the holes for a spoiler no longer exhist, I've clearanced the rear wheel wells so they never rub. I'm changing oil again tomarrow, even though its not been 3,000 miles, it's been a hard month on it.

Update: 10/26/07 Changing oil and Coolant today. I'm replacing rotos, pads and shoes next week and adding a small tach. The tires rub with 5 people in it and will touch on bridges and dips with 3 people. I've replaced the floorpans and have had a hell of a time with a trans leak. Looking for a trunklid and the trim and corner lights, then i'll be ready for paint.

Update: 8/23/07 Replaced the ball joints and tie rod ends. Tires are on. I'll look and hook great and don't rub anywhere.

Update: 8/21/07 I got the BFG radial T/A's in todya. 275/60 and 235/60's. The 275/60 look huge and I'm the only one betting they'll fit without rubbing. Can't find the front corner lights.

Update: 8/16/07 With a full tank of gas and no passengers, it weighs 3248lbs

Update:8/03/07 I also want to get a 700r4 trans, so I can get the OD and the steeper first gear, and I can run 3.73's as a daily driver.

Update:8/02/07 I need to get it aligned then I'm getting BFG Radail T/A's 255 or 275/60/15 on the back 8's and 215/65/15 on the front 7's and maybe cut a inch out of the front springs

Update:7/26/07 Finally got time to tear the cover off the rear end. All the gears look and feel fine. It actually had 15-41 (273's) in it (thought it came with 2.41's)

Update:7/12/07 The Car is still running perfect. 180F in this 90F weather. I'm going to tear the cover off the 7.5" rear tommarow to see for sure what gears it has. Still no new trunk lid. Drained the water and put antifreeze in. I Drained the oil (whatever kind it was, was really thin) and replaced it with 20w50 Castroil and changed the Filter.

Update:5/29/07 The car is running perfect. I haven't had any problems with it. I got the tail lights (for $11.41) Saturday morning and had them and the quater panel extensions on in about 15min. Now I'm searching for a trunklid and front left fender. And still looking for a bolt in 8.5" 10 bolt.

Update:6/18/07 I've blew the water punp gasket 3 times in 48hrs. I learned that you don't put silicon on both sides of the gaskets. I've got the two 6X9's. I figured out the trunklid is from a 4dr. Glasstek has a bolt on fiberglass trunklid and a 4" and 5" fiberglass cowl hood. Still haven't got the tail lights.

Update: 5/14/07 I've checked NAPA, AutoZone, Advance AutoParts, and Body Man's Friend and about 5 small junkyards and can't find the 78 taillights (http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/2-78-Chevy-Malibu-Chevelle-taillights-L-R-Chev-Classic_W0QQcmdZViewItemQQcategoryZ33716QQihZ011QQitemZ320112153567QQrdZ1) is the only thing on the internet I've found. It threw the power steering belt, and while fixing it I stripped the alt. bolt without knowing it. So it started throwing the fan belt. I fixed all that and made an aluminum panel to replace the wood grain peice that surronds the A/C controls and radio and holds the 12volt outlet. I had it CNC'ed to hold it all with a hole for a modern size CD player. We have 4, 6 1/2 pioneer speakers hooked up right now, but not permantly mounted or in boxes, but I need 2 6X9 for the rear deck and possibly 1 10' sub.

Update: 5/04/07 We've got the corners for the correct 78 Taillights just not the taillights themselves. We fixed the taillights and now have ALL working lights. Changed the water pump pulley to get the correct alignment. Ive installed a drivers side seat belt that is correct but i am having problems with the others.

It's a 1978 Malibu Classic with a 305 H.O. and th350. It has Corvette Rallyes 15X8 in the back 15X7 in the front. Has dual exhaust, a cam, Eldebrock Aluminum Intake, eldebrock 4 barrel carb. It's got different coils in the back to lift it.

Right now it has 2:41 gears in a 7.5" open rearend. I'd like to get a 12bolt posi with 3:73's. Over the summer i'm hoping to paint it either 2000 GM dark blue with darker silver stripes or marina blue with either light silver or white stripes. Replace the weatherstriping. Add chrome tips to the duals, add a cowl hood, tint the windows, finish the interoir and get BFG radial T/A's in 225/60/15's for the front(samr size that's on it now) and 245 or 255/60/15 for the back.
