They are fucking tough. My dad use to own 2 of them and only drove them in the winter put snow tires on em and you can outgo 4wd's. Did u know they made a chevette with a diesle engine in em? Check out my civic I just bought..Enjoy beating the shit out of your car..

Chevettes are freaking awsome since you can beat the shit out of them and it's still an improvement! I want to bag mine (the system will cost more than the car did) but i've got to get it running again! You have a great vision for the car. The down side to them running forever is that once they stop, the really stop (I've started digging into mine hoping that it's not the engine itself). chevettes are great for donuts as their center of gravity is so low there is like no way to flip the car!
