We baught this truck back in 99 and have driven it only a few times. Right now it has about 200 miles on it.
We've been dumping a lot of money and work into it for the past few months. No sponsors or anything. Just a family project. I dont have much time to work on it so progress is slow but still progressing. If you guys got any advice or comments go ahead and share.
The whole purpse of customizing this vehicle was to lay frame using air. I still havnt baught the rims but weve decided to drop it on 18's. If everything goes as planed the wheel and tire combo would be 26" in diameter which is exactly what the stock wheel and tire measure. So for now we are dropping it and using the stock wheels for our measurments.
For the rear suspension we decided to buy a 5 Link kit. Which came with almost everything you needed, minus days and days of labor. The raw state of the kit was very greasy and had many imperfections so we had to clean and sand and sand and sand before we could do anything with them
Kit after cleaning sanding and preped for a coat of primer.
Kit with primer and ready for paint.
For the paint we chose the same paint used for construction equipment which is extremely resistant to weather and would set them apart from the stock vehicle parts.
Heres is a few pics of the rear suspension and the front suspension that will be installed in the truck.
