the work log!
FLOORS:
so far ive ripped out most of the interior panels near the floor to beging floor patching. i need to pull the flooring mat back. but the previous owner weled the front bolts on the seat to the seat brakets. the back seat bolts are mad tight and the passenger seat has nuts on the other end.
heres the passenger side

the driver side is a little worse,

heres the video
floor vid
the back seat is completely out. theres enough rust, but now i can get at the worst.

i got the new patches in place. there still some gaps and reinforcing needed. i still need to cover gaps and streengthen it with fibreglass and then tar it all to prevent moisture seepage.
heres a walkaround vid

thats the new rockers on the drivers side.

there is the back drivers side corner

heres the front passenger corner

lastly, the back corner
ok, i broke down and got a bodyshop to do the repairs, 500$

go to the interior page to see the finished result, page 2.

THE EXHAUST.
i started loosing my tailpipe, so i decided to go dual. i swiped this setup from a shop truck at school. took a hour to hack through and less than a minute with a saws-all on mine. i will begine installing once it warms up, it got severely cold overnight.

its installed and ready for roaring fun!

exhaust video
it doesnt sound that great on video, but its deep and agressive, the way i wanted it.
exhaust complete.
THE BODYWORK:
there not much bodywork needed. the bottoms of the cab can be fixed for 300$ at a bodyshop, the hood needs to be sandblasted and replace a fender. thats it in total, this should set me back 350$. then who knows what for paint.
- fender. fender is off, a 2 hour battle.

the hood is off and getting sandblasted, the passenger door will follow. i started a first coat of paint on the roof. for a first coat, its pretty good. i now see where crap needs to be grinded.

i painted racing stripe style taillights on another set i had.

THE LIGHTBAR REBUILD.
i ordered a new lightbar for my truck, a code 3 mx7000. on the upper deck, it has 2 rotators and 2 "v" mirrors, i will later put in 2 more rotators. the lower deck has 2 intersection sweeps (lights in the front corner that swivel from front to side), 2 takedowns which will be wired into the highbeams. it has 2 alley lights for side of the truck lighting and 2 rear work lights for loading up cars or working in the dark. i also got a blue rotator filter if i decide to do any small plowing this winter.
when it came in it was pretty dirty. i completely stripped it down and cleaned it.
here you can see the removed domes and the passenger side lighting assembly.
this is a veiw of the partially dissassembled driver side. you can see the intersection sweeper in the lower deck in the front corner.
this is the removed assembly, you can see the intersection sweep facing the camera and the alley light off to the left side. the take down is at the other end of the assembly on the right
and a little something on the side...
here is the stripped bar. the lower deck domes are removed and both assemblies.
heres the reassmbly. after hosing down the frame and washing the domes, i began to reassemble it.
heres a view of the partially assembled mx. i moved the mirrors more towards the center to look more fully lit.
the domes are now polished and put back on. i used plastx polish to get the lenses almost back to a new state. they were cloudy and yellowed a little. but now theyre much clear and you can see that factory smoked tint in the clear plastic.
i put the center speaker cover back on and its now finished. once i get my truck back from the bodyshop, she'll be put on.
heres a vid,

vid 2
below is a vid of it on the 93 f150. i used it to adjust the feet on the bar to fit nicely on my truck when i get it back

i testded out the blue filter,

just after that, i finished installing new amber rear flashers.

i started testing out my new switch panel i made. heres vids of front and back tests.
switchbox test 1
switchbox test 2
i added brake and signal lights.
aug 22nd
i got extra parts to beef up my mx. 2 regular speed rotators, 1 highspeed (no use for it really) and a parts rotator. i also got 2 more mirrors and 2 flasher/ takedowns for the lower level. theyll be installed as soon as i get my truck back from the garage

aug 30.
i started to beef up the lightbar by adding the 2 extra rotators and takedows, but i got frazzeled and lost my train of though and had no electrical tape so i called up my buddy.
below is a shot of the partially dissasembeled mx. the reflectors are removed so i can take the base off and remove the rotators.

i got the base off and moved the rotator into the center. i wanted the newer one on the outter edge, the old white geared ones were known to cracking. newer ones have big black gears.

while i was waiting for my buddy with tape, i added the extra take down lights.

here was the first test vid, we got it all working and put the rotators together.
and here is the reassembly part!

my buddy just adding the louvers and then its done!

and heres a finished video
