The "L". Nothin too drastic yet, as i'm on a college budget...

10/24/08 UPDATE

I sold my entire sub system and instead switched to a single Kicker COMP CVR 12" sub in a custom home-made ported box.  I now have a Sony 4 Channel 600w amp (temporary) pushing this new sub.  Even with less power and one less sub, it hits so much harder in a ported box! I should have made my own box last time!

My car: (some old, some new)

I used Scoche wires rated at 1400 watts (gotta over-compensate). It was set up bridged so that it ALL ran to the one sub, but i blew the sub. so...

The other subs i used to have in my car...

I also got new door speakers for the four doors. Infinity 6-1/2 reference series speakers front and rear. And just from experience, don't trust Best Buy's "what fits in your car" thing. It told me that all four doors took 6-1/2 speakers. WRONG! it took a fair amount of massaging to get all four speakers to fit.

Finally decided to switch out the 6-disc Saturn H/U with a Sony Xplod H/U i had. It used to be in my old Jeep Comanche. Its been through everything and still works like its brand new. The install kit for the H/U came with a small shelf, that definitely needed some customization...

Wired in 3 red LEDs at the back of the shelf to get it glowing. I spliced it into the factory dash wire, so it turns on automatically when the sensored lights do at night.

Pretty nice. How much of a problem did you have with the lock out after changing the shifter knob?
