Element Tuning Time Attack STI 2006
Update: For 2008 we pushed the car to the next level moving into the "unlimited" class and set the lap record at VIR and Summit Point in the Nasa TTU class. Along the way we won the overall at the Redline Formula X Time Attack at NJ Motorsports park cashing in with $2500 (two classes) in purse money, winning multiple NASA TTU events, winning the Pocono qualifier for Super Lap Battle, and a second place overall at the Redline Time Attack event at Summit Point.
At GT Live 2008 our luck ran out after setting fast time of the day in practice electrical problems kept us off the winning pace.
For 2009 we are coming back with a new paint scheme, more power, and a lighter car to compete in the ultra competitive "unlimited" class. Check out the new modifications list!
The Element Tuning Time Attack STI was built in less than 30 days to compete at 2006 GT Live against the fastest time attack cars in the world.
With stormy weather, a wet track proved too much for many but the "beauty of AWD" had this car running the fasted lap times in all wet practice session. It wasn't meant to be however and in the first semi-dry session a tie rod extender broke sending the car off the track at 100 mph and into the tire barrier.
This was not the end of our efforts as the team and some spectators banged out the body, repaired the car, and even with a sick car we finished in the #3 spot. This never give up attitude has carried us to where we are today. It just seems as if the odds are always stacked against us but that only makes us more determined to beat the best and we ended the 2006 season with a win at the Subiefest Time Attack.
For 2007 we improved the setup and were greated with even stronger competition for the 2007 Subiefest Time Attack. Competing against dedicated 500 HP race cars with professional drivers, and even a 600 HP, 315 Hoosier slick shod time attack car, we beat the best by about 1 second on "street" class Toyo RA1 full tread tires in the dry.
