Taking a corner at the autocross. Thoes Koni's with the Hypercoil springs sure do make it handle. That
Quickor rear sway bar helps a bunch too. Stopping power provided by
Porterfield R4-S pads and shoes.
The project is comming along nice, I have had the transaxle rebuild. It is equipped with the N/A's 3.87 gears and Phantom Grip LSD conversion(or should I say wanna be lsd). It works a little better than the origional version I had.
I got another set of aftermarket wheels that look real nice. They are 15x6.5 and hold my street tires. I have also had some newly aquired Hoosiers mounted on the old wheels(in the picture) which are 15x7. OMG the grip of those tires is unbelievable. I fell in love. I just wish my street tires would grip like that.
I have also reciently removed the stock airbox in favor of a cone filter. I also added a TiAL BOV. It is so much nicer to hear that vent than to listen to compressor surge. And its a very nice piece too. Finally I get eye candy under the hood.
I got tired of the stock stereo so I upgraded with some Rockford Fosgate speakers and Blaupunkt CD head unit. Sounds much better. Makes the trip to the autocrosses a little easier. I resently aquired some used Corbeau TRS seats to replace the broken and worn out stock front seats. The Coebeaus are black instead of the grey the stockers were. Although a bit heavy(@ 27lbs each)they offer more lateral support and harness holes in the seat back.
Last December I did a little track time at Willow Springs on the Big Track. He is a pic entering corner #4(The Balcony)
As of 11/04 the car is down. Its getting a 90 2.2 turbo Common block and A-555 transplant. Also installing a Garrett GT DBB T04E, 3"SV, "Turbo Header", and fuel rail from Turbos Unleashed. My friends at Torque Freaks are doing the work. While they are at it, they will also be wiring in an AEM EMS to control everything. And when I get the car back, I will be installing the 11" brakes from a Lebaron GTC.
