ruiner_version's 1990 Ford Taurus

Sunday, April 22, 2007.

I purchased this car for much less than it's worth about three weeks ago. It even came with a spare alternator, computer, airflow sensor, mufflers and a set of "Slicer" rims from a '91 "Plus". The engine, transmission and chasis are all solid. The only down side is a minor amount of rust on the doors and the tip of the hood. So it's got a little rust! Getting the car for under the $1500(CAN) mark and the fact that it runs like new is nothing to whine about.

About 3 days after I put it on the road, the rad fan motor went. After opening it up, I found that the springs were gone and that the brushes, 3 of them, were worn down to nothing and the 4th brush was nowhere to be found and it's wire had been eaten up too. I hunted around for a replacement and the junkers wanted more than the cost for a new one from NAPA. Unfortunately, NAPA couldn't find me one in Canada. I went to Concept Ford in Georgetown and they didn't even have a price or listing for the part. Lucky for me, I was able to let NAPA rape me for about $175 when they managed to find one a couple of days ago. So that's now in there and because I had nothing better to do with the fan before it went back in, I painted the blades white. Don't ask me why, I just did.

So now that everything is in proper running order under the hood after changing all the fluids and the like, myself and a few of my automotively inclined friends are going to tackle the rust and repair it with fibreglass. Not that cursed Bondo!!! We're gonna put in a functional hood scoop and some slotted vents. Once the body work and the hood has been taken care of, she's gonna be painted flat black. As for the rest of my twisted plans for the car, which I assure you are very twisted, I'll get on about those later.

Just a few more pix of the car. I'm sort of tied up until the end of the month. Can't start work on the car until then...

ruiner_version's 1990 Ford Taurus The ass end of things... Ain't she purdy?! *The spoiler was ripped off of a Ford Escort and painted black.

ruiner_version's 1990 Ford Taurus Part of my never ending crusade to drive law enforcement everywhere insane! I'm sure you can see where I'm going with the future look of the car...

ruiner_version's 1990 Ford Taurus Here's the heart of it all. The 220hp V6 SHO motor made by Yamaha!!!

*The next page I'll post in the next week will be entitled "Not So Pretty Now". Yep, I'll be posting nice close up pix of all the damage that has to be repaired on the poor girl. But as a good friend of mine always says, "She'll be right!"

Stay tuned! More to come...
