jterhorst's 2002 BMW Z3

My dad's 2002 Mercedes-Benz SLK 320 and my 2002 BMW Z3 2.5i

My car (left) and my first car, just repainted, and driven by my sister.

Hey, and thanks for stopping by my page. For any of you who found this page via the Mustang Circle thanks to StangNet, theres been some bad news as of late. My Mustang was totaled on July 20, 2003, while parked in front of my house. An old senile man driving an 86 Crown Victoria (arguably one of the heaviest cars on the road) plowed into it, hit the gas instead of the brake, and plowed it 60 feet before he stopped. Obviously the transmission was shot and the drivetrain, as well as the entire frame. See page 3.

I won the Mustang on The Price is Right back on October 2, 2002. The show aired on November 15, 2002, and I took delivery from Beverly Hills Ford three days later. I had just had the 5,000-mile service done after 8 months.

I have pictures on the next page. It was a 2003 GT Premium, Shadow Grey, Dark Charcoal leather, Bullitt wheels, and automatic transmission. I had put on Flowmasters and a MAC Cold Air Intake. I had about $1,000 worth of aftermarket on a list all ready to go. Thank God I didnt buy any of it before the accident.

The insurance company (yes, he was insured, luckily) gave us full value for the price of a new Mustang, including tax/title/license. The next day I found one of the most stunning cars Ive ever seen.

Here it is, all mine.

Its a 2002 BMW Z3 roadster. Off the lot with 2850 miles on it. It was a dealership fleet vehicle, and was in service at the dealership as a loaner for the last year.

This Z3 is fully loaded with exception of the sport package. It has a 2.5-liter inline 6-cylinder pushing out 190 hp, which is a ton of power in such a small car. [The 3.0i has 225 horsepower, and will rival the Mercedes-Benz SLK320 roadster all the way to the rev limit.]

Anyway, options on the car include leather seats, premium package, which means wood trim, heated seats, power driver and passenger seats, and power top.

Also standard is a CD player with the premium Harmon Kardon sound system, with speakers in the doors, behind the seats, and a subwoofer between the seats.

Also equipped is BMWs 5-speed automatic transmission with Steptronic manual shift mode, its a blast to drive.

Love your Z3. I was wondering if I can get your feedback. I used to own a 2001 Mustang GT. Sold it. Debating whether to get a Mustang GT converible or a Z3. Can you tell me your pros and cons of the two? You can email me if you want at raptorcruz@lycos.com. Thanks.

Wow, u have alot of hits on ur page. nice. I like those Z3's there alot cooler than the new Z4's I think. I'd like to get one someday. Just wondering, do you ever use taht manushifter? If so, how does that work compared to the auto? I would imagine its the same response being clutchless. anyway, nice car.
