I bought the car with a 168K. It had slight front end damage, in fair condition. It's got 183K now, and still runs strong, although the valves need to be tuned, and possibly the timing chain replaced. I replaced the starter, and the AC pump, and almost every other AC component in the car....
I've started with a few mods....
The first mod was to lower it, and put a strut tower bar on it. It sits low on Tein S-Tech spings (2" drop in front, 1.8" drop in rear), and 18x8 +40mm offset Verde wheels wrapped in 225/40 R18 Toyo Proxes. Blue anodized aluminum lugs to match. {I found this to be a pretty good offset for the Maxima/I30. The wheels stick out a little bit out front (about 1 cm) but still clears the fenders for a full turning radius, 100% rub free}. The other key componet of the suspension is the front strut tower bar and the new KYB adjustable shocks and struts. They really make a huge difference in the ride quality vs. the original. I don't know why they made these cars sit so high and have huge wheel-fender gaps, so the 2" drop is pretty drastic and pretty much kills the plush Infiniti ride. The things we do for the sake of looking good eh?
