Front Brakes and Spindles are from a 79 Full Size Chevy Stationwagon. My long time friend Chuck Grove ( C.H.Grove Enterprizes, Lynnwood Washington Phone 425 398 1634 ) redrilled the 11 3/4" rotors for me with 5 on 4.5" pattern so we could bolt on a set of 15x7 Dodge Police Car Wheels.
One of the things that makes "OBEASTY" such a fun car to drive is the 77 Camaro front suspension. When I started measuring and comparing the stock 48 Dodge front frame against a 1970 to 1981 Camaro sub-frame I found that thier dimensions were almost identical. If you draw a line thru the 48 Dodge spindles, you'll find that it's 20" from that line to the center of the bolt hole in the first body mount on the frame. Do the same thing on the Camaro Sub-frame and you'll find that it also measures 20". You'll also find that the frame rails on both frames are very close to the same width at the body mount. When my friend John Eastman did the graft, the Dodge body lined up perfectly with the Camaro body mount...it just had tobe lowered about an inch and welded back onto the frame. I can't tell you how many times somebody stuck thier head under "OBEASTYs'" hood and then asked me if this was all the stock frame. My friend, John Eastman, did such an excellant job on the graft that everthing looks like it's just supposed tobe this way. I can tell you...it's very nice having such a talented friend.
