....................September 26 & 27 2007 My Son and I pulled an "all-nighter" and got quite alot done.
Not to worry...the 390 Holly is just for effect. In the not too distant future "OBEASTY" will have a new 750 Edelbrock with an Electric Choke sitting on top of her Edelbrock Torker II intake manifold..
How do you make a Mopar/Saginaw Power Steering Pump work with a GM Trans Am Power Steering Box you ask??? You find the shortest High Pressure Hose in the Auto Parts Store and just connect everything. It works like a charm.

....................................................September 30th 2007 I got a little more done.
Since our bottom pulley is off of the steel crankshaft on the old 440 it has one bolt hole, of the six, that's off set. To make it fit on this cast crankshaft the recommended trick is to elongate the one off set hole, then it bolts right on...................................Shift linkage is from a 1965 Plymouth Fury...if I remember right"OBEASTYs'" exhaust manifolds are looking pretty good with thier new coat of Ceramic High Temp Paint. You can find these on mid 60s MOPAR 383 passenger car motors. They work really good for our purposes and they're a lot cheaper than tube style headers. If we were ever to up-grade to something like a 500HP Crate Motor, then I would use shorty style block hugger headers. I've heard...thru the grape vine...that a chrome dip stick is good for at least another 10HP...so we gotta get us one of those.October 9th 2007 We've ordered "OBEASTYs'" new 12 volt Electric Wiper Motor, so there will be pictures of its' installation on page 7 pretty soon. I also ordered a nice new chrome dip stick (can't wait for that extra 10HP to kick in) and a new alternator bracket set from 440SOURCE.COM for the 160amp Alternator we'll be ordering from
MCR . "OBEASTY" used to have a few electrical problems, but no more... this time shes' getting a bullet proof new electrical system. There will be more about that on page #9 in the near future. Although we've been fiddling around with all this since last April, from September 6th 2007 to October 9th 2007 I think we made some real progress...we're certainly not breaking any speed records...but we are moving right along and having a lot of fun in the process...............................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................
October 13th 2007 Exhaust system is all hooked up and we've got a Chrome Dip Stick...I can hardly wait to hear that extra 10HP kick in.

December13th 2007 "OBEASTY" has some more new parts which include : an Edelbrock 750 Electric Choke Carburetor, a Valley Pan Gasket, Autolite 86 Spark plugs, a 180 degree Thermostat, Cork Valve Cover Gaskets and a Fuel Pump.

January 12th 2007 "OBEASTY has a new Kickdown Cable from BPE

............
January 15th 2008 "OBEASTY" has a new "ONE WIRE" 160 AMP Alternator from MCR
I call this... "precision engineering". This Alternator was actually made to fit an 88-93 318/360 Smallblock Mopar, so when I took the it out of the box I was wondering if everything was going to fit. It does fit...but... with an 1/8th" clearance between the head and back of the alternator and about 1/16th" between the head and the stud protector. So it's tight but it fits. Next I need to paint the new alternator brackets and trim the spacer tubes, then we can start wiring.

January 31st 2008 We've still got lots to do...but... it's beginning to look like "OBEASTY" will be running again pretty soon. Go to page 9 for more about wiring.

February 12th 2008 Wouldn't you know... it was the last little bracket, that holds the Kickdown Cable in place on the Trans, that made contact with the floor pan. So...out came the rug, the accelerator peddle, the fuse panel mount, the brake peddle, and then the floor pan for a little bit bigger master cylinder hatch and a little massaging with a torch and ballpeen hammer to make clearance for that little bracket..

.......................February 19th 2008 "OBEASTYs' " brakes are finally bled and ready to stop
..................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................April 29th 2008 Time to wave good bye to the New Yorker...it's off to become a Refrigerator or maybe a whole bunch of Toasters. At any rate ..it has served us well.
