Haven't been on here in so long now, probably just about the same amount of time has been since I have been able to do any work to the bug yet. I have plans on it but as most people know, it always ends up being life that gets in the way. I have taken a few steps forward and some back. One of the big things that has been holding me back is the cost for a trans that will hold the power without destroying itself in a short amount of time. Just about any way I go im looking to have to spend about 6k on a good setup and plus some. So its either gonna be a performance trans from rancho transaxles, subaru trans from subarugears.com in australia (unfortunately I already sold off my subaru trans shortly after getting the engine, didn't know anyone made a rever ring and pinion kit for it.... very sad), or mendeola or porsche. Im really leaning towards the subaru transaxle setup, probably about the cheapest I can do with a 5 speed and should still hold up to the power. I am gonna post more as the weeks go on and I can try to get some space in my garage to work on it I will post some updated pics.
