I'll be doing shorter pages so that way they wont take forever to load for some of you guys.
I was thinking about getting door sills for my car. Yes i know i should fix my car first then wasting my money and time on something else. But this is just something jumping around my head right now.
It seems when every one thinks about door sills they think about getting the ones that light up or say "Mercedes Benz" or "AMG"
Sure its really nice and stuff but what if i pulled an Ace out my sleeve and used these door sills on my 16V (Picture Below)
That would be a nice touch to add to the car. I'm sure it would confuse the hell out of some of my passengers. To bad it would cost me around $80 plus shipping so around $110 shipped from the UK. Maybe I'll pass on that for a few months.Seeing how i don't have a radio i was thinking about getting one.
I wanted a OEM look but didn't know what to go with. I saw this picture and i seemed to like it a bit. Maybe i'll try looking for this if i can find it for a good deal. Chances are thats slim to none. As for the radio thing I'm most likely to get the original radio that came with the car, AKA tge tape player.
So today is Black Friday and a lot of deals are going on around town. I thought it would be a good idea to skip all the other stuff people go to such as Best Buy or Target and go to the other stores people wouldn't go to.
Hey why not visit Jo Ann's Fabric store they might have some good deals! Turns out their having 50% off any one item. I jumped on that and got 50% off sued fabric. I got 2 square yards for the price of one $23 with tax. Not bad! I was going to use it in my Honda Accord but i thought thats to much money to spend on a car I see my self selling in a few years. Why not save it for my 190E.
Anyways back to fixing my car. Seeing how I can't figure out my power problems I'm going to have to remove my alternator again and go back to kragen and have it retested to see if it passes. If it doesn't pass it has something to do with the wires for sure.
Its been raining here for a few weeks in late december. When I had a clear day; I went outside and ripped out the alternator in under 5 minutes. Soon after it started to rain and I went inside to work on the alternator in the garage.
Removing the cover Installed this little thing inside. I found it on my spare.
Replaced my current wires with my spare wires. Wraped it up in new tape to protect it.
I'm trying to trun my belt tensioner to tighten up the belt. While i was down in the engine I put some threadlocker on some of the bolts to protect it.
As you can see I bent the mateing surface for the fan so I used my spare fan which was stright.
No No
Nope Yes
Ok now its time to figure out the wireing. After about 30 mintues I gave up and let the car run.
For some wired unexplained reason it just worked and the noise went away. I drove the car around town fine but i was concern that something might happen with the alternator so i hooked up a simple LED gauge. Ypu can see the wires below coming out my hood in to my passengers side door.
I was online and saw another 16V for sale for $1500 with a blown motor. I made the trip out to see the car in my 16V.
The car had no title and has been sitting outside for 8 months. The last owner gave it away because it would cost to much money to fix. Turns out the shop where the 16V is at restores old Mercedes Benz. Yeah I saw a Gulwing.
I was on the 190Revolution.net website and a member was offering for free a wood center console. I quickly jumped on the offer and sent him a small payment for the shipping.
I figured since I have some suede sitting in my room; why not cover the spare wood console with some suede.
rI went to Home Depo and picked up some 3M Super 77 spray on glue for $10. I Sprayed it on and let it get tacky to the touch. Afterwords I applied the material and put some books on top.
After one hour I cut up the holes for the buttons.
I was pretty happy with my work and how it came out really nice.
^Yeah i know it looks kinda purple/faded in a way but its more of a dark black
I wanted to see what kind of spacer will I need for my Evo2 Replica. So I took my one inch spacer and put it on the front with the Evo2 wheels. I don't know much about Offset to be able to figure out what size i will need.
It kinda sticks out a little with the one inch spacer. I think maybe a 3/4 inch spacer will do good for the front. I'll get around to doing the back fitment and also trying the 14MM spacer I also have.
Its time to test fit my Recaro C classic seats and see if they fit. ^ Now that I got this heavy seat out the car its time to try on the new seats.
^My new seat :) ^ My Recaro seat inside
^Yeah we have a fitment issue right now^
^Its not that the seats can't fit its because the seat brackets are to wide^
I just gave up for the day and took out the Recaro seats, in the process I scratched some of the interior. While the seat was out I might as well clean it with my Rug Doctor. I found some change and some broken glass under the seat. I take it that this car was broken in to at one point. I guess this was the reason why my car has no Radio in the center console.
