^190E Evolution 1
New euro center console In 2006 I was asked by SpikeTV to be in the Bullrun. I was e-mailed first and gave them some info. I sent in a video of me and my buddy Mario to be on the show. Unfortunately we didn't make it (No call back). But my guess is me and my friend didn't fit spike TV's image of a average joe who looks like he could be in a rock band.
Most people who pretty much owns a w201 (Some of us have working AC) But im not one of the few people with working AC so i just unplugged the AC unit in my console and replaced it with a Euro console. Who needs AC? Not me.
Yeah my stopwatch works thankfully my car came with a none damage stopwatch. $600 to replace the stopwatch brand new at the dealership
I went to the body shop that did my evo2 conversion. This bumper belong to my last owner. He use to tell me all these stories of his bumper being in the shop getting painted. I want to see what it looked like on the car so i put it on.
Now that i put this 16V front bumper on i like to call it my "Fuck Up Bumper" for everyday use(I don't even drive my car to start with). I guess i'll keep the Evolution2 bumper for "Show" reasons only (Bumper is NOT for sale).
^I saw this picture and though it would be pretty cool to put that on my car.
I added these Red Recaro seat belt pads as an extra touch for my car
sandblast my extra set of headers
I got the Black/red license plate off of ebay under the name "Chad License plate" I think it looks really nice if i had a black car to start with. Since my car is yellow it will look funny
Summer 2008
I had my timing chain and tensioner unit replaced by some well known 16V mechanics/owners.
http://www.tonyandbob.com/
I did ask for a valve adjustment and they're honest about it; that my engine isn't that loud compared to other 16V's.
^ The effects of having 9 inch wide tires in the front. Cracks and rubbing.
I decided to remove my rear spacers as they where Non Hubcentric
I removed my tie rods and replaced them with new ones. Turns out one of them where really hard to remove no matter how hard I pounded on the tie rod puller. I decided to put some liquid wrench and let it sit for about an hour and it came right off.
I got the front springs off a buddy on the internet for $60 for the front. I paid another $86 at a local junkyard for the rear springs. Since i had the springs on hand I wanted to paint them.
Before I insatlled the springs (Afterward below)
I went to Autozone and picked up an internal spring compressor thinking it would work. Turns out it doesn't work as I found out at the junkyard. I ended up paying $86 for two rear springs, I would have gotten them $45 for both if i removed them myself. Oh well another $40 down the drain.
I went back to Autozone and returned the internal spring compressor in exchanged for a external Mcpherson style spring compressor. Turns out that didn't work when I tried it out. Oh well it was just a deposit so I would get it all back once i returned it.
So now i just gave up and purchased a Mercedes spring compressor on ebay for $205 shipped.
Now it's time to work on the rear end
1:00AM and still Installing One rear spring and one rear shock absorber. Yeah it was really hard.
I can't believe I had to remove the lower control arm. I spent about 2 hours just trying to line up the bolt holes again. Thats just one side.
The springs on the left are my new Junkyard springs. This is the reason why you need to install your springs correctly. This spring was not sitting in it's spring seat. To make matters worse it didn't have a spring pad.
Now it's time to compress the spring.
^ When reinstalling the springs they will often get jamed in the perch. The trick is to let it get jamed in the perch, Unscrew the spring comppressor rod and remove it. Inside the spring compressor set get another TOP plate and stick it inside and comppress the spring again. The stuck plate will come out on its own.
Now it's time to do the front springs and shocks.
^Bump stop that i reused ^Talk about messed up messed up Mounts
^Wetsanded the mounts to look nice
After everything was finished with the end result I step back and look at my work and i think to myself.
WTF the car looks UGLY, It got me thinking in the long run. I finish my suspention upgrade/downgrade.
My car looks so funny without the drop in the front. That picture is just when I finished installing my oem springs. The front isn't that high up but it's still pretty high up to look funny.
After:
I started debating about the futrue of my car and what route i plan on taking with it. I'm thinking about converting my car back to the OEM 2.3-16V bodykit.
At 190revolution.net we were having a photo contest to see who had the best photo. I turn in a few pictures of my garage.
