Aug. 2006 First weekend of ownership with NO car insurance. I drove the car to Starbucks 2 miles away next to the police station to meet some friends. I didn't know to much about my car at the time to know that their was a alarm the last owner didn't tell me about. Long story short I trigered the alarm and the car didn't want to start anymore and i didn't know what to do at 11pm at night.
Yup you guessed it, me and my buddy Mario push the car back home 2 miles away. What a way to start my first week of ownership.
Before ^
After Above and below
^The first thing i modified on my car while it was stashed at my friends house was replacing the stupid rusted BBQ grille with a new S600 grille. This grille was like the cherry to the ice cream. It was the missing item to complete my car.
Sep. 2006 After about a month and a half my 190E stop working. I got really upset and didn't know what to do. My car had some issues where it wouldn't turn on in the weirdest times. My car did turn on but it only stayed on for 5 seconds and shut off. I talked to a local shop about 3 miles away and they said they can work on it. I woke up early and had the car put on a flatbed and took it to the shop. I was charged $70 to go 3 miles.
I was hit with a $1100 bill just to get it working again.
$500 for two fuel pumps and other little parts. The rest was labor.
Oct. 2006 Time for an Oil Change. I woke up really early on the weekend about 7:00AM and went to my friends house to pick up my car. I took it to my schools auto class to get the oil changed. Turns out my car was to low for the car lift so I just sucked the oil out.
Yeah it took about 20 minutes to suck everything out.
I replaced the crappy air filter with a brand new K&N drop in air filter.
Jan. 2007 I had to vaccum my oil out because my Oil Drain Plug was striped. If you do Vaccum your oil out make sure your engine is not to hot, just warm to touch.
Time to remove the SLS system. The last owner replaced the rear shocks with KYB shocks. When i got the car he gave me some new SLS shocks as spares. To bad I don't plan on using it any time soon. Maybe in the futrue when i want to return everything to OEM.
Heres a sample picture^
To remove the SLS system isn't that hard at all. If you look at that Sample Picture above you will see 4 bolts for the cover. Thats pretty much how many bolts that hold your pump to the engine. So remove the 4 bolts to the pump and inside you will find this funny shape key that looks like the letter "H" or what ever you want to call it.
You can remove that little coin shaped thing and put your SLS pump back on and use the pump itself as a cover. Don't forget to cap the lines. You can remove the SLS tank and brackets. I just left the SLS lines in place just in case in the near future I want to put it back on. That alone took 5 hours and i finished at 2am.
At the time i didn't have SLS delete plug. I did the guy thing! Look for a big bolt that can fit inside the hole. Sure enough it didn't leak at all. I drove the car about 15 miles before i ended up taking it off and replacing it with a real cover.
I was doing some research on the internet and someone mentioned about using an oil cover for a VW Bug. They said that you needed to file the corners inside the holes to get them a little bit bigger to fit. I looked in to it decided to take a chance and hope to god it fit.
It only cost me $18 on ebay but my stupid ass didn't look around and could have gotten it for $10 shipped on ebay. Heres a picture of it on my car. As you can see how i filed the holes to make sure they fit. Yes i put 4 bolts in and as of this day it works fine no problems and no leaks.
Another good reason to remove the SLS system is the pump itself runs off the exhaust cam shaft. Thats added weight to the valve train components. My 16V had a bigger gaps on the exhaust side vs the intake side (valve clearance).
Old valve cover peeling paint. Its time to fix it.
I sandblasted the valve cover for $50 at a local sandblasting shop. I clean and washed the cover to remove any left over sand inside. Cleaning took about 2 weeks.
I got some engine paint from Kragen for about $8. I had my buddy Mario do the painting for my cover with some engine paint. It's not as glossy as i thought it would be. Good enough.
I installed the cover with a new valve cover gasket and let it cure over night
Now that the cover is done i just need to scrape off the paint on the letters
After scraping off the letters I removed the heat wrap on the alternator and replaced it with a new one from Kragen for $5.
I took some Hi-temp paint and used a brush to paint my headers a nice gray. Yeah it smells funny when the car is turned on.
Now it's time to remove my heavy BBS RX GT wheels and put these 17inch by 7 and 1/2 Evolution2 Wheels. 215 in the rear and 205 in the front. I found these wheels for sale used on Craigslist from a guy named Ron. Thanks for the wheels Ron.
^Same wheels as mine

I guess you can call it a finished car
^Night shot. One of my favorite pictures!
^190E Evolution2 from Japan rolling on DTM OZ Racing wheels (Sorry no info on the wheels)
Some pictures i took for the 2007 Photo Contest
Top view from my room
I'm sure that you don't notice but i took off the front splitter so i could get on the driveway
I replaced the corner lights with US oem corner lights. Yeah i like the oem look.
I installed a new JDM style License plate holder. I got it for $9 and used a Euro plate to show how it works in the picture above.
It was winter and I had my car cover blow off a few times because my wing didn't allow my cover to sit properly. I had to take off the wing and place it inside my garage.
