So the event is in a few days. I need to get my car ready for it. Now its time to put the evo2 spoiler back on to the car. It's been more than a year. Unfortunately it was sitting in my backyard under a tarp. Over time the paint got these funny marks which became really hard to remove.
I seemed to lost my bolts for the front spoiler so i need to go get some new ones. As for right now I only put the wing back on.
I also got LED license plate tail lights. I'll install that later. I'm going to seafoam treat the car before the meet as I also need to do an oil change.
Ok time to do some maintenance on this car such as a oil change. I never wanted to use sea foam or anything that was different from basic maintenance but i finally changed my mind about it.
Here's something i learned. Make sure you have all the right tools and everything will work. Make sure you have a second car just in case. I'll explain later. But yeah i poured some into the engine and some in to the intake.
Here's the left overs going into the gas tank. As you can see I have a high idle. Other than that everything seems fine. I also have a sea form video of me driving around.
Ok time to change the oil. The reason why you should have the right tools and make sure everything works. As you can see the drain bolt was stripped. It was stripped by me when i tried to changed the oil when i first got the car.
Hope it works.
Turns out it didn't work. Lets try some other tools.
Turns out those tools didn't work. I guess now i need to siphon out the oil. Turns out I don't have a siphon tool. What i did have is a pump used to fill transmissions, I also had a gas siphon tool. I attached the two together and magically it fits
Ok I started pumping at 10:17 PM and finished at 10:42 PM it wasn't that bad.
Well I did make a mess on the floor a little bit. Oh well at least i got the oil out.
Lets take off the valve cover and check for any timing gear wear. I didn't see anything on the cam gears or inside the engine.
Lets up this dangerous spacer back on my car. Well for me i think it's dangerous. Don't worry I'm going to get a much safer one soon.
Perfect. Humm maybe i need a bigger spacer other than one inch. Maybe 2 inchs??
Right now my cat is starting to rust and if you look on the right one you can see a black shadow on the rust spot. I could put my finger and if i wanted poke a hole. Either way the car has a messed up exhaust as i can hear something shaking around inside.
So yeah here's the car meet video
So i got to meet up with Peter who owns a 190E 2.6 with EFI. I was amazed how well the car drove. I've been and drove in a 2.6 and I never felt this much power before. The power was instant without any delay. The only downside he mentioned is
Trail and Error.
Wirring is hard to do.
Turnaround time isn't over night.
Its a learning process
