Another small step.....
Next round of modifications were still a bit of performance and appearance. I was on a small budget so I had to be creative and have it look good. I wanted a little more scoot out of the V6 so I added a new programmed PCM, PRJ 10.4 mm wires, NGK plugs, MSD coils, and a Wizaired cold air intake. It really woke the car up. felt like a whole new ride.
For appearance I bought a custom Vinyl trunk inlay, and I decided to paint the whole engine bay myself. I stripped it down and taped off everything. Degreased and cleaned the bay. I bought a little paint gun for my compressor from Home Depot. A couple quarts of paint from Pep Boys. I painted the engine mount brackets and dog bones 2 tone. The Engine bay was all painted black. I went with a black theme to show off my red accessories, and to keep my red and black theme going.
In the garage she went, and my fingers crossed I wouldnt mess up.

Painting of the engine bay. I had anything I could disconnected and zip tied together to paint all the areas inside the bay. This was the point of no return.

I was happy with my results. No fish eyes and the clear turned out great.

Then Off to the show after figuring out where everything went.

I was amazed to get a Best of Show trophy.

I was thrilled to get the trophy, BUT as I pulled into winner's circle to claim my trophy, I heard someone from the crowd say "whats so special about that car?" Yes a very ignorant comment, but I knew why. All my hard work was under the hood. from the outside the car still looked very plain and very stock. The crowd had no idea what under the hood looked like unless they saw it before the awards were given out. So back to the drawing board I went.
