g0ast's 2004 Chevrolet Aveo Tempe, AZ Customized with Directed Security, JVC Head Unit - 22

First off, if you view my pages, like my car, please give comments and VOTE! I apprecieate it.

My car is a 2004 Chevy Aveo 5 door hatchback. I am taking it's customization very seriously and because of it, I am proceeding in it's changes very very slowly. Not just cause it takes time to gather up enough money to make such changes, but because I believe in something called "quality of work". Meaning that I'm not just going to buy a body kit cause I can, not buy an aftermarket tail light just because it's available and it fits on my car. No. When it comes to customizing MY car, I will not be satisfied with half-assed work or parts.

When I plan on changing something on my car, I look at how symmetrical it would be to the overall look of the car, if it doesn't look clean or harmonious, I won't like it and it wont stay long. The foresight I use can almost be considered as an artistic view-point. In the end I want my car to look as factory looking as possible but obviously customized.

I have a personal philosophy regarding my customization process:

-All changes to the car must look completely natural, as if it was specifically made just for my car, the absolute last thing I want is to look artificial.

-The project must be clean and efficient. I will not have my design look like cheap, with a fakey wing or some cheap strap-on body kit (look up Aveos with a "Razzi body kit"), absolutely no neon (but some small touches of LED's are OK), no over doing it on the sound system, or too many fancy electronics or video screens, if anything, I'm only gonna have about 2 video screens, I don't need any more than that.

-Absolutely no impulse buying of parts. I believe there are two different types of customizing: impulsive customizing and customizing with a purpose. Impluse customizers are the people who go to Auto Zone to buy their muffler tips, air intakes ect. and believe that it's "tricked out". Also, impulse customizers are the type of people who buy muffler from some auto shop thinking it will enhance their performance and not some cool one either, but the little buzzer one that sounds like an angry bee with a loudspeaker.

-No touching the engine performance wise until I am assured that the changes will actually make a difference AND not damage the engine. There are very little if any truly Aveo-designed performance parts out there and I will not use any "universal" parts anywhere on my car, especially in the engine, as almost all "universal" things have not been tested specifically for the Aveo so it might actually hurt my car rather than help it. (Heads up to ram-air intake users)

So far my favorite change I have done as well as the most noticable are my new wheels and tires. They are Riax brand "Sebring" model in 17x7". I went through alot of trouble to find them, but I found a great tire/wheel dealer from word of mouth and I spent about 5 hours spread in 3 days looking through their dictonary thick sized catalogue.

Other exterior changes include the removal of the stock Chevy bowtie badge and the removal of the rear bowtie and "AVEO" lettering.

I have tint, including 35% on the front windshield, 20% on the front driver and passenger side windows, and 5% over 35% on the rear windshield and rear driver and passenger side windows.

I'm not exactly planning on getting a body kit, I will probably just modify the stock bumpers and making them a few more inches lower by cutting out a portion of one aveo bumper and putting it inside my current bumper, making it look just like the stock bumper, just taller.

UPDATE 10/03/07

I had just successfully installed a new Flowmaster 60 series Delta muffler on my car, it also has custom piping and a simple chrome tip, and it sounds great!
