artie99's 2000 Chrysler Sebring

Sold 12/20/2007
Here's the back story:
The first time I saw a Sebring coupe, I thought it was gorgeous. I wanted one. When I was in college my freshman year, I ordered a brochure from Chrysler for the car and put it up over my door.

A couple years later, my friend asked me what kind of car he should get. He didn't have many specifics. Somehow I convinced him to look at the Sebring and he liked it so much he bought it.

Fast forward to 7 years later, and he is ready to part ways with it. He took it to Carmax and they insulted him with the price they'd give him. So, in an attempt to avoid the hassles of selling it and avoid the financial slap in the face of Carmax, he offered it to me. And I bought it from him.

I should have taken some before pictures, but I didn't. I never think to do that, I am always too excited to work on it. So here is what it looks like now.

All I have done is:
30% tint all around
clear corner lights with chrome/amber bulbs
replaced a REALLY blown door speaker
Fixed and repainted cladding that had severe scrapes.

I think the wheels that came on it are some of the best looking factory wheels to come on a car. I had thought about putting them on other cars because I liked them so much. It's too bad that they're made out of aluminum foil. They bend if you look at them too hard. They have been repaired multiple times and you can sense the flaws in them when driving.

This car is not fast. In fact, when I get out of it and drive my Scion tC, the tC feels like a super car. But, The Sebring handles the road very well with almost no body roll. Now, if I could somehow combine the speed of the tC with the handling of this car, I'll be set!

Here's something I don't understand - why would you buy a Sebring and then put a body kit on it to make it look like an Avenger? Why not just buy an Avenger and save yourself the hassles?
