CURRENT CAR SETUP
Here I'll show the current car setup and mods. I'll update this page as I update my car!

BASE

1997 Black BMW Z3
1.9 I-4 - 138 Hp - 5 spd.
16" Stock Alloy Five Pointed Wheels

UDMZ3's 1997 BMW Z3

MODS

Dunlop 8000 225/50ZR-16s
Cost - Came with car
UDMZ3's 1997 BMW Z3Thoughts - Good traction. Good looking, but subtle. When really pushed, tires don't stick, will not slip at any speeds under 25 mph, no matter how hard the turn, but if you enter any kind of hard turn, these tires just don't stick.

Rollbars
Cost - Too much (got ripped off)
UDMZ3's 1997 BMW Z3Thoughts - Adds to the safety. Looks great. No improvement in stability.

Dinan Cold Air Intake
Cost - $235
Milage - 44,000
Estimated Gain - 8 Hp
Installed - Me
Thoughts - Great sound, much deeper and throatier. Makes my car sound more like a sports car. Breathed better, but did not impact performance for its cost. Estimated milage increase approx. 1 mpg.

Dinan Stage II Chip Upgrade
Cost - $299
Milage - 45,500
Estimated Gain - 8 Hp + Removes Speed & Rev Limiter
Installed - Momentum Motorworks
UDMZ3's 1997 BMW Z3Thoughts - WOW! Performance increase is a good kick in the ass. Revs smoother and higher w/o limiter. Governor is out. Barking tires is easy now. My little 4-banger is starting to feel more like a sports car. Estimated milage increase approx. 3-4 mpg.

BMW Windscreen
Cost - $76 on Ebay
Milage - 48,100
Thoughts - Again, WOW! No wind in the cockpit. Even at high speeds, everything seems to sit just fine inside. I can now feel heat as well as hear my music! The buy was very worth it. Installation was very easy. Can't wait until summer for a good beach trip!

Clear Side Markers
Cost - $34
Milage - 49,000
Thoughts - Nice. Bought the cheap stuff off ebay, but you couldn't tell unless you were the one actually installing them. However, the yellow bulbs show up big time. MZ3.net has an article for silvering the bulbs, thinking about doing that.
pictures coming soon

Eisenmann Race Performance Exhaust
Cost - $556
Milage - 54,000
Thoughts- This things sounds like a Ferrarri. It took a while to break in, but now its running smooth, especially when the engine gets to operating temperature. No major horsepower difference, although there is definitely more punch, maybe in the 7-9 Hp range. Major performance increase is in weight. As well, the thing purrs like the tiger this car was ment to be. Plus, doesn't look that bad either. Will add pics soon.
