Sadly, I believe the time has come that I sell this car soon. I will be returning it close to stock before selling it to a lucky new owner. My black '89 needs some love, and this car has been quite the attention whore. Also, since I'm developing a passion for drag racing, I will likely replace it with a classic Mopar muscle car. Stay tuned! In the meantime, I have some new Autocross pictures. At the last event, I was able to best both the Lancer EVO, and the Subaru STi!:
This car has the stock 3.0 24V DOHC V6 producing 220 hp and 200 tq. It is mated to the MTX IV, 5 speed transaxle.
The interior is near flawless, and a previous owner re-covered the front seats with red leather. You either love 'em or hate 'em.
The vehicle came with a few upgrades, and I added a couple myself:
Power:
- K&N Panel Filter
- SHO Shop Y-Pipe w/cats
- Custom Cat-back w/MagnaFlow Mufflers
Est. 230+ hp
Drivetrain:
- Clutchmasters Stage 1 clutch
- Quaife Automatic Torque Biasing Differential
Suspension / Wheels / Brakes:
- Eibach Pro Kit springs
- Tokico Struts
- Energy Suspension bushings
- 18" Kazera KZ-A wheels
- Yokohama AVS ES100 245/45/ZR18 tires
- PBR 13" Brakes
Cosmetic:
- Replaced Ford badges with Yamaha badges
- Clear corner lights
- Red leather recovered stock power seats
Audio:
- Alpine deck with CD/MP3/WMA
- XM Satellite Radio
This car handles extremely well, and is easy to drive aggressively with confidence. The Quaife never fails to amaze me. I've been taking it to my local ESCA autocross while my black car waits to be repaired.
Here's a closeup of the brakes (check out those sexy calipers) shortly after installed, and proof that the seats really are red. ;)
My Dad and I went drag racing at Infineon. Here you can see his beautiful 1965 Dodge Dart:
And a couple older pics (amber corners, stock brakes):
