Summer Maintenance 2011: Day 1

Living in NY for the past few years has really restricted my ability to work on my car - there's only so much work you can do on the street when you have to worry about moving the car for alternate-side parking regulations (i.e. the street sweep).

Recently I moved into a new apartment that includes an attached 19' x 18' private garage. Now that I have a dedicated place to work, I've decided to tear down the car so I can make some much-needed repairs & upgrades. Here are a couple photos of the new place.

The preliminary list includes:

General maintenance
+ Engine bay tear-down and clean everything
+ Replace/relocate fuel filter
+ Flush coolant, check/change transmission fluid, check/change rear diff fluid
+ Replace motor mounts w/ IR Performance Poly Motor Mounts
+ Install a tie-down for battery (currently in passenger's rear bin) and clean up wiring.
+ Add head shielding to LIM (UIM already has gold foil treatment)
+ Remove all components of A/C system (maybe...)

Fuel system
+ Remove front bumper (Burnout, FPR) and take it to a body shop for fiberglass repair
+ Replace aluminum radiator/oil cooler ducting and modify CF undertray
+ Install aluminum injector rings on secondary injectors
+ Modify fuel system to run both rails in parallel
+ Remove FPD from primary rail
+ Mount injector resistors somehow & clean up wiring
+ Re-route power for fuel pump (currently re-wired using a Bosch relay)

Forced induction
+ Pull turbos (currently rich man's non-seq converted), assess remaining life and perhaps rebuild (again)
+ Replace broken stud from turbo exhaust housing, and likely replace all of the turbo housing studs
+ Replace HKS BOV (has a damaged low-pressure release valve)

I first put the car up on jack stands before diving into the tear-down. I have a few things I definitely needed to do but I also wanted to check on my turbos. I've been pushing 15psi since the rebuild, which has about 20k miles on it. At the time I built a set of turbos using a rebuilt CHRA for the rear + one of my stock CHRAs for the front (now appx 55k miles on it). Here are some photos of the teardown.
