The GEO/Chevy Metro was the best entry by one of the "Big Three" into the economy car segment to date. Proving that it was possible, yet they seem to only want to sell Trucks and SUVs. What a shame!

I just recently bought this car, mostly for the BIG BUCKS it has the potential of saving me in fuel costs! I have about 30 miles to drive to work, one way. The Metro is alot cheaper then driving the 94 Woody Wagon.

So far the only modification I've made to the car has been the exhaust. I think it turned out pretty good, if I keep the car I may end up putting a stock muffler on it though, the way it sounds now, I just want to drive it like it's a race car!

UPDATE! UPDATE!!
When I bought this fine automobile it had a massive oil leak. Even with dumping in a couple of quarts of oil at most every fill-up, it was still a cost saving over the 94 Woody Wagon. After putting on nearly 10,000 miles the oil leak got to point that it was soaking the Alt. belt, causing it to squeal and start shredding!
Enough was Enough! After not being able to go anywhere with the Family over Labor Day weekend, as we had all gotten sick, sunday evening I decided to go outside and pull the engine out of the car!

I took the engine down to the shop owned by my buddy on Labor Day and completely rebuilt the engine with the parts I had had him order a couple of months ago for when I would have the time to fix the cars oil leak.

I thought I would have a little fun with it, Chevy Orange seemed only appropriate for my Chevy.
It is a small block!

The engine is all back together in the car and everything seems to be going very well. No leaks!
All new gaskets, new rings new rod and main bearings, new timing belt, and a new clutch, pressure plate and bearings. The engine light isn't even on any more! I cleaned out all of the EGR system which seemed to be the problem, totally plugged! It's got 160,000 miles on it now, let's see how much farther it can go!!

I need some good ideas for some wheels for this car.
I've been driving the car now for a few months with just the ugly wheel covers off. I like the style of the steel rims, haven't found any center caps that fit, haven't really looked, and I haven't even painted the rims black, it still looks better then those horrible stock wheel covers!
Anyone know if the lug pattern on the Metro is the same as Nissan's four lug?

Leave me some feed back if you have any ideas or sugestions.

How is this for a prosective Wheel Option?

Hey man, I see you've got alot to do. One thing you should know is that everything you want to do to this little metro has to be custom, you've got to do it all yourself. I'll help you out. First, replace that stock muffler and instal a high flow racing exhaust. Second, the most cheapest(but more challenging) upgrade is to custom paint the interior. Third, go ahead and spray the rims black for now. 15" to 16" rims can fit on the little metro to replace those ugly bicycle tires. 4 lug design and up to 8"s wide, no bigger than 8" or the wheels will hit the well. I have 15"x8" rims on mine. Fourth, A new stereo system is the one thing that can make people actually like your car if you get a nice high quallity system. Customizing Metros take money, time, creativity, and patience. I've been working on my metro for about 10 months to be exact and if I did it so can you. Check out my Metro GT to give you an idea, and my friend "retrometro" for ideas. If you need more help or pointers just let me know. Good luck man.
