Hood Build...
If you would like to try, have fun & Good Luck!

2004.

2008.

As you can see I attempted the Passenger side first.

These holes were a mother to cut!

Cut out with disc grinder.

Cleaned up with the angle grinder.

Original holes in original hood.

Fresh Paint!

The clear went on perfect that day. The weather was 80 & Sunny & barely any bugs!

Keystone Clear is some good stuff!

I cut out the middle bars & grill from the original 5.9L grill.
(The 5.9L is a little thicker & has a different mesh than the other models)
Then I cut off the bottom to get the right pitch & lean.

I clamped the bottom back on, put fiberglass matting in the space & dumped resin in.
Then cleaned it up with some Everglass.

Sanded & Sanded some more.

The top edge is sanded at an angle to sit flush against the hood.
Water runs straight off not down in between.

More fresh paint!

The 2008 GMC Sierra 1500 Billet Grill was obviously too big.
So I wired tied it where it needed to be & cut accordingly.

Notice the "pop sickle stick" tool. I taped 4 together & another 4 together,
then taped those together.
It kept them from breaking off the post holding them together.
America's Oldest Brewery, Yuengling Lager...
Couldn't have done it without ya!

The grill was bent at the top in shipment so I worked around it.

Front Grill goes up with the hood!

All of them in.
I want to put Billet in the hood but the contour didn't work.
I have to work on that one.

Thanks for checkin this out! If you have any questions let me know.
