I had to get rid of this thing. While I LOVED the car it just wasn't the same for me as the RWD cars I love even more. While it's been gone since almost the middle of summer 07, I still do miss it. It just wasn't me though. :(
I decided to do something different with a car this time around. I went with a sport compact! Typically all I've mostly dealt with were v8RWD cars, turbo buicks, and the only other FWD car I had was a pontiac GTP. I picked this 05 Cobalt SS/SC with 9,122 miles on the odometer. Leather interior, stock 18" rims. Wish I had the sunroof, but I can live without it. Cobalt SS/SC's are rated at 205 horsepower and 200ft/lb of torque stock. However people regularly dyno them stock anywhere from 195-220 AT THE WHEELS. So the 205 flywheel horsepower rating is pretty much bogus.

Current Mods::GM stage 2, which includes a 3.07" modular pulley ~15psi, 42lb injectors, shorter belt, and a PCM tunefor injectors, power tune, and 7,000rpm redline. I also removed the air box and put on a cone filter. You don't need a "True cold air intake" on these cars as the stocker is in the fenderwell already and the tubes are very free flowing. I should be going to the dyno in the near future. I modded the stock shifter and knob to be threaded and solve the problem of the knob falling off while shifting. Removed the rear "bowtie" emblem.
New pics coming with chrome SS rims and blacked out front bow tie emblem!

Future mods: I will probably get a new down pipe (off road) and port the stock exhaust manifold. Some other areas need to be addressed like the stock motor/trans mounts. These cars have problems with wheel hop. I am going to fill my trans mounts with polyurethane to make a more rigid mount and help get rid of some wheel hop. Also looking into either the ingalls engine dampner or the turbo tech racing front motor mount. That should make for a good combo without too much vibration!
Here are some pics of my modded shifter. It's not threaded or anything so something had to be done. I ended up threading the shifter and using a helicoil in the knob. Problem solved!
