SS Dauntless in Action

800 feet of driveway, 9 inches of snow then freezing rain and darkness gave SS Dauntless a good test. He passed.

I was planning on getting backup lights as a Christmas present. After it started raining on top of the 9 inches of snow, I knew I had to plow before it froze solid. I took one of the front lights and used it as a backup light so I could plow in the dark. These pictures were taken the following morning.

Another 9 inches of snow after a day of drizzle and freezing rain. SS Dauntless passed another tough test.

Additional hinge lights added for plowing in the dark.

Playing around this fall out in the woods before installing the plow.

December 2008 has been a record setting snowy month in central Wisconsin.  I have plowed many times already.  Christmas I plowed 4 inches and today the 26th I plowed another 5 inches of heavy snow mixed with rain on top of it.  February 27, 2009 plowed 5 inches of snow with 18+ inch drifts. At least the sun was out even though wind chills were below 0 at noon.
