Hey guys! I need your comments, ideas and opinions. This is a 1970 Holden Kingswood 6cyl 3.0 3speed manual. Holden is a G.M. company based in Australia. It was bought from a neighbor for roughly $418 back in the year 19forgotten.hehe Early 90's. I drove this car back in high school and it was very rarely used after. More than 5 years later, it was painted w/ a custom urethane green metallic paint job. Me and a friend did the airconditioning installation ourselves in a trade school before the car was scraped to metal for a new paint. It's still not finished and I think fixing it will never end but it's all worth it. I like this car over newer late model cars because of it's uniqueness among young Filipinos who choose Skylines, Evo's, and the like. It might not have up-to-date features but it sure will turn heads. You can visit my friendster account too to check out my non-car related pics>>>>>Friendster Site Link text
Seen here are the R134A freon hose fittings attached to a $10.50 condenser I bought from my friend, Jon. It works well for me because the read out temperature from the system blows out -4 degress celcius of chillin air. I installed 2sets of FIAMM horns but I plan to install 2sets more. Front turn signals are for Mitsubishi L300 vans. OEM ones are no longer available locally.
The front grille was painted with Silver Metallic. Billet grilles would be great but there's no aftermarket available for it. Can someone give tips on how to make one? The chrome headlight bezel looks fine still but the front and rear bumpers need repair and re-chroming.
Hoping to get a look on the effect on the paint I want you guys to see and the surplus(junk) Japanese seats installed. Lolz.
I was wiring the car when i took this pic. It's not a professional one though but I got away with the labor costs! Me and Jon added a hydrovac unit ($16.00) that came off from a Toyota pick up. It grips the car to the road like a cat climbing up a tree. The new clutch master is for a a late model Toyota because the plastic canister from this stock unit broke. I can't find OEM parts here in the Philippines. I installed a Mitsubishi diesel pick up L200 (Might Max) radiator. It's now being cooled by two electric fans and both work very well..freed a few horses also w/c is somewhat noticeable. I live in a tropical country so cooling is essential. I would love a stroked 350cu V8 but it ain't good for the gas expense.
Now was it red or the blue wire for the airbag?
A Momo steering wheel will be there. I got a gauge cluster from a 1998 Civic just to make up for unavailability of a gauge cluster for this car. It also had the same 200kph speedo just like the stock. I have to cut up the dashboard just to fit the Civic gauge cluster in there. I got a Sony Xplod Cd head unit and plan to use it here. I also got 2 Cerwin Vega 15's that will make the booms. Each doors will have two Alpine 6.5" coaxials in custom door panels later. Kick panels are great but I might kick them because this car is gonna be my daily driver and my shoe size is a freakin 13!
I got a good deal for these 2 bucket seats. $58.00!!! I can't afford a Sparco or Momo seats so I bought these that came off from an unknown Japanese car. The rest of the interior will have Beige color. Doors will have power windows. That's a lil red Mazda Miata on the background. On the left of it is a 1969 Pontiac Firebird. It's gonna be fixed after my green machine will be up and running.
7months after waiting for the interior budget, the bucket seat has finally been reupholstered together with the rest of the interior. I covered all in white leather so that the inside of the car stands out to compete attention from the eye-catching paint job. That's a 15th edition BMW Z3 with BBS rims wrapped in Bridgestone 225/40/17s
A close up view of the white leather with green stitches to put some flavor. All white would be boring. Wouldn't it?
I copied the design traces from a 2007 Honda CRV. To maintain the color theme of green stitches on white leather on the front seat, I thought of going a different way to accent the green stuff. It's been added w/ extra thick car seat foam to give comfort to the passengers..and maybe help cushion the shockwaves from the two 15's in the trunk..soon! Lolz!
I maintained the classic two tone but added a few lines to match the front seat design of green stitches while mixing the design of the rear seat. I had plenty of green leather left anyway so why not use it than waste it. hehe How does it look?
I repainted the dash gray to match the carpet. I'll replace the carpet color with a lighter one or something later when I can find another color. Trick gauge cluster huh? Ordering a complete set of Auto Meter gauges would cost me more than the budget of the interior. hehe Looks tight too.. I was test fitting the Sony Xplod head unit at this time to see how it looks with the gauge cluster being lit on.
I almost forgot to mention that I also put white leather on the ceiling and on the rear deck. I put new weatherstrips on the windshield and rear glass. OEM chrome pieces are no longer available locally but I think it looks cool w/o it anyway..
Window door glass not yet installed for power windows conversion.
This is the current state of the Holden Kingswood as of Dec 18, 2007. A few more pieces here and there like bumper being chromed, still need new tailights, power windows, etc...HID's are a few weeks or months away.
Are wheel adapters safe? Give me some light on this one. My car weighs around 3tons. It only cost me US$180.84 to fabricate these 4 wheel adapters. hehe
Just one of those days where I can no longer fix it on my own. hehe
When it had its brakes serviced, wheel adapter installed so the rims would fit and wheels balanced.
It cost me only $270 to have 17" Celeb wheels that came off from a BMW with Dunlop Le Mans 235/45/17 in the rear and 215's in front. All are made from Japan. The suspension needs to get lower too. That's still not the current ride height. Can someone tell me where I can buy
new tail lights from the internet?
I decided to repaint the rims with the original color rather than having it rechromed. It matches well with the paint doesn't it? Wouldn't it be nice this car sit this low? I'm thinking of putting in 255's at the back and 235's at the front but that depends on the budget as this Holden progresses. Besides, I don't wanna cut the wheelwells for wheel tubs for wide tires tucked low.
That's what my Holden looked like before I had it repainted. Looked like a Hearse!
Notice the sticker of the Lowrider Man on the top right portion of the windshield? It was destined to be a lowrider and it now got its wish..G-machine style!
Remember I mentioned about a 1969 Pontiac Firebird that needs to be done later? Plants in front of it deter thieves. hehehe. Wanna see what's under the hood? Later, alligator!
Oh yeah!!! if you guys don't know what
Cebu, Philippines is all about, imagine this. All year round!!!
