The Car One of a kind soft top 1971 240z w/l28et swapped , 5spd. r200. 2.5" downpipe/3" exhuast. summit rad.4X4 calipers. Auto Metergauges. momo wheel RSX seats
Histroy My brother bought a 280zx turbo in really rough shape for $200 The car was illegally parked and after some neighbours complained I came home one day from school and saw the car on a flatbed towtruck talk about good timing. After speaking to the towtruck driver than his boss on the phone I convinced him to take it to a local High school and pay him $40 instead of the 40 and the 120 fee to take it out of the impound. We were both happy since the impound was far anyway..
Histroy Here is a shot of the complete rear brakes/axles/arms/differential. I was really picky to The high school auto teacher about stripping the car. I told them I didnt not care about most of the body as long as drivetrain and efi harness were intact and unmolested.
The Engine turbo 2.8 straight six.
FOUND A CAR to swap it in. Clean 240z from kitchener, via georgia.
When I got there I was shocked too see it had a soft vynl top I have never seen this on internet/person/ or even heard of. I thought it looked nice and gave the car a more classic look. After speaking and negotiating with the owner (he told us he bought it from original owner and the top came like that in a rare dealer option in georgia. The car was very solid and I was impressed with the body and drivetrain. interior another story.
Here are all the pics of the car before I actually started working.

This all needed some renew/restore/modernize a bit.
THE SWAP
The engine I recieved in the car was the l28 bottom off a 280z and e-88 head with dual su's this setup was quick and torquey.
After moving in our house and 240z had a home I wasted no time. I bought the car to do the swap and I had a blueprint of how I wanted this car exactly to spec.
