Running Total of What I've spent so far on my car:11/10/02:Dalum and I started sanding some of the rust off the car on Friday and we also got all the surface-sticky-stuff off the hood and roof and trunk. We bought some Bondo, sand-paper and Rust-reverse. We also got the spatula-spreader thingys for the Bondo, some White Lithium Grease and the pins to fix my drivers door... (A whopping .33 cents!) Today (Sunday) we picked up some spark plugs... It will take some time for Dalum to figure out how to get to them to replace them... But they're there for when it's ready.************************************Total Spent on Car So-Far: $37.84************************************11/11/02Holy crap! My hood isn't rusty anymore! Thanks Dalum. A lot of sanding, and finally finding the right color of white to match my car and this is the result...Plasticote color FM8114 White is the magic color.And it's probably a good thing that these NASTY spark plugs are finally out of my car.And the girls have a new home. I am going through some recent financial peril and my 2001 Ford Focus recently dissappeared from the parking lot at work by someone called the "repo man". Needless to say... I was forced to purchase a new car (well not new) for the very reasonable amount of $600... $600 that I, of course, didn't really have... But I figured I would make it work... And this page is dedicated to the ~transformation~ of my little car...My $600 got me this lovely 1991 Ford Tempo. It needs work... Rust on the hood, trunk, doors and wheel wells... And that's just the outside. Struts will be the first replacement... There's a problem with the hinge on the driver front door... And I'm not really sure about the rest of it.It has brand new tires on it though... That's a bonus... I like that... And it runs. Runs well, actually.. And it's got some pretty neat stuff on it like:- Auto Remote Start- Power Locks (driver door is broken)- Power Windows- Air- Cruise control... But I haven't gotten a chance to see if it works yet The guy who sold it to me was a mechanic... So I trust he did some work on the thing... And he said he just put in a brand new alternator and gas tank. And another cool thing... In the original manual... The 1st owner documented EVERYTHING she did to the car from when she bought it in June of 1991 till she sold it in 1999. Awesome! On the following pages I'll keep a log of the work and update the pictures. I'm not sure who will be interested in this or not... But if you have any suggestions... Help a poor girl out. :)-N
