Well as many of you J30 owners know, every 60,000 miles you should replace your timing belt. Well last winter I bought my own full 120,000 mile kit from Concept Z Performance. I decided to do the job myself and save myself a bunch of money. I called 2 of the local Infiniti dealers and they gave me an estimate of about $1700 to do a full timing belt replacement. With the kit I bought, I got:Timing Belt Timing Belt Tensioner Water Pump Water Pump Gasket Thermostat Coolant Bypass Hoses x2 Variable Timing Control Springs x2 Variable Timing Control O-rings x2 Camshaft Seals x4 Crankshaft Seal x1 Crankshaft Sprocket Spacers(F R) Crankshaft Sprocket Idler Pulleys, Timing Belt x2 Idler Pulley Studs/Washers/Nuts x2All of this cost me about $515. Also bought some more coolant, high heat silicone for water pump and rented a seal puller from Advanced Auto. I had a few directions on what to do, but most of it was pretty straight foward after working on 2 of my friends 300zx TT. It took me one full Saturday to do the entire job and this was my first time doing it. Main part is to have all the markings lined up on the cam gears before you take the belt off. If you dont, then you are going to have a fun time getting everything realigned easily.
