This car is part of a not for profit organization called Beat the Heat, Inc. This organization is made up of active and retired law enforcement officers and fire fighters who actively race their vehicles and use them as an education tool to teach younger drivers about the dangers of street racing and introduce them to legal drag racing. Beat the Heat members also talk to young people about making good choices regarding drugs, alcohol and violence. These teams are privately funded and not supported by your tax dollars. This vehicle is owned by Sgt. Jim Butler and operated by members of the St. Albans, WV Police Department.
