This was the major rust spot. I had a little surface rust on the rear hatch sill so I started grinding. When I was done with the grinder I had very little sill left. This picture shows a plate already welded in place.
Repair in primer.

finnished. Not bad, a little wavey but hey, it was my first body repair of any kind, and it's all metal work, no bondo or fiber.

William,
Great looking work! I am very interested in the bumper conversion that you did. If there is any way you could send me some info on it I would greatly appreciate it! Looks like you're almost ready for paint... Those graphics on the original paint job reflect some history of life and times of the 70's. These cars were a disco-dream! Please visit and sign my g-book!

Oh ya, MSA and Black Dragon have been friends of mine for a while now. I'm gonna be ordering a new inner shift boot from Black Dragon soon. If I end up getting the turbo engine, I'll probably replace my clock with a boost guage. Your car looks like its coming along well. I don't think i'll ever have the time, funds, or patience for a resto on my car, so i'm just trying to keep it looking decent and running. Good luck with your project.
