My goal is to convert my 924S into a Porsche 924 D Production cloan / street perforamnce / autocross car. It shouldn't take much to bring my 2.5L Porshce engine up to the performance level of the 2.0L Audi powered racing car of the early 80's. Below are pics starting with the most recent of my 924S restoration. When I first purchased the car it ran great but it was still in much need of some TLC. My iggee seat cover pics. It is difficult to get covers on these seats. If you have the time I recommend removing the seats first as I had I lot of trouble getting the bottoms on. I had difficulty getting them to fit right. I couldn't get the lower side parts to connect to the Velcro back section. I used a metal bar with a hook at the end to feed the loops under the seats to the point where I could fit my hand underneath the seat and hook them. Not much space under there. over all I am very pleased with the covers and think they are a nice improvement over the cracked and faded seats. I like the pockets on the back of these covers.
I picked up Nu Finnish scratch DR and car polish http://www.nufinish.com/products.html Look at that shine! I found the best product for keeping that shine is a spray can of Spray Cleaner & Pulish avaible from Pro Honda. You can find it exclusively from Honda bike shops. It is the best stuff I have ever seen! It can be used anything!
Another one of my favorite clasic Porsches that I would be interested in owning. I am a big fan of the Targas, I love the open air! This one is a 1967.
Online Videos by Veoh.com Watch my Friend Greg drive my Porsche 924 S at Seneca Army Depot, Romulus, NY in our first PCA Zone 1 Autocross. We Placed 4th and 5th out of 7 in our class. Check out my site www.RefiningFireProductions.com and video links. www.RefiningFireProductions.com Windows Media In Honor Of Porsche teaser video iPod, Quick Time In Honor Of Porsche Teaser video
The heart of the car a stock N/A 2.5L producing around 150 horses. Since replacing the power steering filler tank and fixing a leek I have been working on cleaning the engine. It is amazing what you can do with a steel brush, Armoral wipes, and a bottle of Orange Blast.
My Upgrade Plans And Wish List. Once fiberglass kit is complete I am considering Mars Red and black for paint. This was found on porsches from the late 70s. I like it becouse it is brighter and warmer looking then the usal Porsche Gaurd red that you see most of the time.
Rennline racing pedals and track mats or Vosstek peadles? WAC Porsche Fuchs Replica Wheels Rims (these will be one of my last upgrades. For now I have picked up some inexpensive great looking hub caps.(see new pics) The car cam with "dull" winter tire rims and the hub caps seen in most of the pics. I lost one of the caps and they were getting beat up so I picked up some new ones.
C,D Production Fiberglass Boy Kit from GT-Racing.com A very cool updated look. If I ever get a 944 with some front damage I would consider replacing the front fenders with the ones from this kit. This is one mean looking kit. It is a little over $1,000 with the rear flares. GT-Racing sells the the flare for $300. I think I will save a little money and go with the sleeker looking original 924 Turbo SCCA D production racing kit.
More Pics of orgional 924 D/P Racing kit cars. Only 16 of the kit cars were made by Porsche. They beat many higher horse power race cars in their class and were some of the best handling porsches ever made.
I have replaced the air filter with a standard K & N replacement air filter.
Here is a shot from the 1981 movie Condorman. As I recall it was watching those black 911s whipping around winding streets that started my Porsche obsession. I was some where between 7-12 years old when I rented the movie for the first time.
Porsche Dream cars that I would like to own some day including the 935(911 turbo) slant nose.
Here are some cool 924S racing cars

Great car. I love the old D-production 924's. They were great cars. My father raced one in the 80's and early early 90's in the SCCA GT-3 class and NASPORT series. I had a blast watching that sucker do so well. -Derek

Car really looks good. Do you enjoy working on it as much as I enjoy working on mine?

That's hot. I have an 87 924S also, except mine doesn't run for the moment. Do you know where I can find a fuse panel wiring diagram. I have a blck w/ red stripe - no idea where it goes. Just ripped a defunct alarm system out. Loses charge and turns over but won't start. I'm ready to cry ;)
